Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Brush, Round SH #6

Edit: The brush that was received to replace the faulty one has not cracked and performs very well. The sable hairs will split when dry but when wet they keep a very impressive point. Changing to 5 starsOriginal Review:I love this brand and will continue to purchase these brushes… but I’m only giving it four stars because the $60 #6 immediately cracked around the base of the ferrule after an hour of use. I’ve had brushes last ten years without this happening - I’m more surprised than disappointed. The replacement brush looks like it’ll last longer.Nothing holds paint like Sable and these brushes feel very nice. I did a blind test against the S7 and a cheap Sable off Amazon and could definitely feel the difference.Part of the reason I buy this brand of brushes is because I hope to give them to my kids one day - this purchase did not instill confidence.

I purchased this a few months ago, and like another reviewer, I received a size 4 brush in a size 6 tube. But I opted to keep the #4 and, on Amazon's customer service advice, I purchased another #6. Amazon credited me for the price difference. It was great customer service.I love this brush. I have a couple of Escoda Reserva Kolinsky Tajmyr brushes (being told they were the best at the store where I bought them years ago) and have always felt that they were a little disappointing and unresponsive - less the brushes than I thought they should be. They point well, but the point doesn't hold up well in actual use. Both of these Series 7 brushes have great, great points!! They make me love doing delicate marks and give me more control, less frustration. Highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I hate doing reviews, but this company deserved one. The packaging is outstanding and the box has a magnetic closing mechanism in it. WOW!! The brush is beautiful, so worth the money. The brush has a beautiful point and is snappy.

I use these brushes almost exclusively … I LOVE them!!! I recently ordered 4. I received three winsor &newton series 7 brushes sizes 1,2, and 4. Perfect. HOWEVER the one I need most, the size 6, is a Winsor &Newton brush but NOT a series 7. It is not in the same packaging as a new series 7 ALWAYS comes, the brush handle is different as well. The package is labeled series 7 but it is NOT the correct brush, as you can see. It is the less expensive but similar brush, one I have tried before but don’t like as well. Paying $70 for a paintbrush, I do expect to receive the one I order. If it is a mistake and a replacement is sent, the brush described, I will update this review. I do ADORE these series 7 brushes and they are well worth the cost.Edit: i reordered the #6 brush. This time i received a package STILL labelled series 7 #6 brush but containing THREE brushes size one which are NOT series 7 brushes!! I give up. Last attempt for me.

Waited to long to open the package to return the brush. It was to replace the same brush purchased years ago. This new brush is in worse shape than the one that is 10 years old. Buyer beware

It's professional quality paint brushed. I've loved them since college and it's my favorite still twenty years later.#6 brush is my all time favorite size for almost everything- my go to brush.It's considered the best. It's an investment and if you take care of it the way you are supposed to, it will last you a lifetime.As an artist, it's well worth the money.

I have paid a lot less for brushes that held their shape and kept their point better than these. Windsor Newton has the best paints, I expected more from their brushes.

I love this brush. It was expensive but well worth it. It holds paint wonderfully and has definitely improved my painting. I recommend it highly. Even though it was shipped from Great Britain, it arrived in about 2 weeks. Very pleased.
