Purchased as a present for my son, along with many other more expensive items. He said he loves this item the most out of them all

My son loves this thing and actually plays with it all the time. The metal pins are sturdy and the quality seems much better than other toys that are mostly plastic. The weight of the metal pins does make it harder to balance upright, but not a big deal.

Was worried this may get destroyed during shipping, but it arrived intact for me. It's fun to play, but it may tilt backwards if you don't push enough pins forward

Was beginning to wrap this and dropped it on the floor while still in the secure packaging. I opened thebox to check it. Completely shattered it and the entire thing fell apart. Perhaps it was damaged before it arrived.

This item was undeniably good quality, and heavy duty. However, it is heavy! And the clear section is glass. I wanted it for my 7 yo grandson, but decided to wait a few more years, until he’s not quite as clumsy. I’ll be returning this for one with metal pins and a plastic enclosure.

I needed a toy that my 6 yr old son with autism could play with while his siblings were in a reading class. The "Pin Box" completely grabbed his attention. He stuck toys behind the needles and played with it for a long time. Other kids were fascinated by it, especially when putting it up against their faces.One caveat is that you should periodically tighten the bolts that hold the unit together (I did this by hand). I did NOT do this originally and noticed one day that quite a few needles were sticking at various slants. They had become misaligned because the bolts had loosened. I had to individually straighten maybe 50 or so needles (by carefully loosening the bolts but not completely disassembling the unit) back into each pinhole. A BIG PAIN, but necessary because this is a very beloved toy. I'd get it again if this conks out.

The newer versions are all plastic and just not good. This one is exactly like the metal ones I grew up with. A steady favorite in my house - every kid that comes to play also loves it.

My son loved the gift. It is the heavy duty kind.
