This isn't a 20 W zapper. Cord is to short. Go with LIBA brand
I needed a 20W zapper. This one says 20W but it isn't. It was two 8W bulbs. The higher watts makes a difference. Also the cord was very short. I have to hang it from an over the door hook. I keep one in the kids hallway and it has to be higher so the kids can't reach it. You have to use an extension cord to plug it in. I am returning this zapper. I recommend the LIBA brand zapper. The cord is long. It can reach from hanging up on a door to the plug by the floor. Also the 20W bulbs make a big difference. They also have a 3 year warranty. Customer service is great. My Liba zapper had stopped working which is why I got a different zapper. But then I realized the 3 year warranty. I emailed and they sent me a new one for free. I am glad because I really like the Liba. And you can't beat the warranty!

Toasts the invasive Aedes Mosquito and Biting Midges
Last year, SoCal saw increased incidence of the invasive Aedes mosquito that bites aggressively during daylight hours (mainly on the ankles). Mosquitos already naturally loved biting me but these new guys made it even worse. Even just opening your front door will let some in that will bite you later.I set this unit up in my garage so that my garage can function like an airlock of sorts. Any mosquitos that enter my garage while I leave the house will get attracted to and electrocuted by this unit. When I get home from work, I open the garage door and bring all of my luggage with me and then close the garage door. Once the garage shuts, I open the house door and bring all of my work stuff in quickly and then shut it and let this unit do its job of killing every mosquito that managed to fly in. This unit + the "airlock" procedure has dramatically reduced the amount of mosquitos in my house. Adding supplemental mosquito traps inside the house has left me relatively bite free for the last 6 months. The unit came with some replacement bulbs but I've yet to have to use them since the original bulbs are still running well after 6 months of continuous use.The grill is easy to clean and it has a catch tray at the bottom that I love checking every month to see just how many bugs this thing kills. A quick check of the biomass in the catch tray right now: Hundreds of small Biting Midges (~80% of the biomass) / ~10 Aedes mosquitos (small with the tell-tale white stripes on the legs) / 2 moths / 1 crane fly (doesn't bite but is annoying regardless).

Excellent Customer Service!
I recently purchased one of these lights. It arrived with one fully functioning bulb and one bulb that lit up orange on the ends and 'dead' in the middle. I sent an e-mail to the vendor (contact information is included in the box with the zapper) requesting a replacement light bulb. 90 minutes later -- on a Sunday afternoon, no less -- I received a response from the vendor that they are shipping out a new unit to me, and to stop using the one that I have. (I guess the orange color means there's something wrong with the unit, not the bulb.)For what it's worth: I was really impressed with how well this unit worked, even with just the one bulb. I have it my garage, which is a huge volume -- three very large car bays, 15-foot ceiling, and additional room at the back of the garage. I put the zapper all the way to one side of the garage, which happens to be where the most accessible 120V receptacle is, and the zapper was a doing a terrific job of keeping the garage mosquito free. (We live in a very dense mosquito area.) I am looking forward to seeing how it works with TWO functioning bulbs! :-)

Would be 5 Stars if the cord was not so short.
4 months later and this one pictured is our second purchase. I have had one in the Livingroom for 4 months now. I put up a few pictures next to a toaster oven for size reference. It is a bit sizable so placement could be an issue. It has a nice thick cord (similar to an outdoor extension cord) but it is VERY short, I put up a pic to show that also. All that said, I have been so happy with how well the first one performed that I came back and bought a second one and felt it deserved the solid 4 Star review.

Bogus. Does not work. Don't fall for the fake reviews.
Does not attract mosquitos. I've had this in my living room for a few weeks and the only thing it's gotten is a house fly. Meanwhile, we have several mosquitos eating us alive. I even put it outside in our garage overnight a few times with the door open, where there are plenty of mosquitos. Nothing. Don't waste your money. I've researched a bit and apparently mosquitos aren't attracted to light, like other insects. So any product claiming to attract and kill mosquitos with uv light is a scam.

each night when we are going in and out it'll start zapping away like crazy. Those insects are drawn to their tiny ...
For the price, this thing does the job. We have a patio and pool so we are going in and out of the house constantly. At night I would see tiny little insects flying around. Little gnat things, and sometimes mosquitos. The first night we had this thing and turned it on I at first thought it was broken. Every minute or so it would POP and I didnt think there were that many little flying things...but sure enough I go take a closer look and those bugs were getting zapped big time. Over a couple hours it must have zapped a few dozen tiny things.and then slowly there was nothing but the occasional ZAP. Now, each night when we are going in and out it'll start zapping away like crazy. Those insects are drawn to their tiny deaths by that light. It gets turned on every night and is left on all night. I'll never go without a zapper now.
