Locking volume and channel feature!
Super easy to get started with right away. Very loud audio, able to lock the controls, including the volume. This prevents accidentally turning them down or changing the channel. Excellent sound quality and they feel very rugged and easy for the kids to use! I bought two sets!

Excellent for keeping a hiking group in touch.
In sequoia park gave sustainable, clear connection up to about a mile and was usable to about mile and a half. That was perfect for keeping in touch a group of hikers on an 8 mile trail.Did not need any charge for the entire 3 day trip. For $10 per radio it's good enough for me.

Great FRS radio at a budget price point
I have used other radios from Baofeng but I haven't used any of their dedicated FRS radios until these. These don't transmit as far as GMRS but they also don't require the FCC license needed to operate GMRS. The do have limited range but are extremely simple to operate. I didn't even need to get out the manual to configure and put them to use. First you install the rechargeable battery and replace the cover, optionally install the belt clip, and then charge them with the included USB cable before taking to the field. When using them, you simply select the channel you want to use on both radios, set your volume and alert preferences and then press the button when you want to talk. You can enable a confirmation beep if wanted. I was able to talk to my kids on the other side of my neighborhood with it (about 0.4 miles away) with a combination of trees and houses between us before it started cutting out. The description states it will reach up to 3 miles in an open area and I find that hard to believe and that isn't what this FRS frequency was designed for. FRS is designed for a maximum of 2-watts and you would be doing great to get up to a mile of coverage. It comes with a rechargeable battery pack of you can use 3xAA batteries in each in its place. It also comes with a belt clip and a USB-C Y-cable that allows you to charge both radios at once with a USB port or power supply.Another great bonus is the fact that it does support NOAA radio frequencies but with the FRS antenna, your experience will greatly vary due to your proximity to an NOAA radio tower. If you want to avoid the complexity of one of the more technical radios and just want a simple radio that works at a good price point, this is a very good option. I have used Baofeng for a few years now and I have not been disappointed.

Good for the price!
I got these walkie talkies to use when camping, hiking or caravanning. So far, these have performed well. The range is decent, they are easy to use and the battery holds a charge well. For an FRS radio, I was genuinely impressed with the range. In open areas, we got crystal-clear audio at over a mile apart. Even in wooded areas or around mild elevation, the signal held up without garbling. Of course, like any walkie-talkie, the environment plays a big role, but the F22 handles it better than most in this price range. And the USB charging option is super convenient—charged both units overnight using a portable power bank. Easy to operate right out of the box. No complicated menus, just a solid click-and-talk system. The buttons are intuitive and the compact design makes them super easy to carry. They’re also lightweight but don’t feel cheap or flimsy.

Nice walkies
I can't say anything about the long range, it works in and around our 2 story house on 3/4 acre perfectly. The controls are basic, traditional walkie controls, nothing fancy but they don't need to be. One thing that stands out for me on these is how clear they are. I've owned a pair of midlands for years and these are so much clearer than them, barely any static or distortion in voices.
