Does the job and looks good.
The first thing you discover upon receipt of package is that is indeed well protected! Package itself was damaged but contents perfectly OK. It is also quite heavy as two sections of thick glass as well as basic construction inside. So there is in fact a LOT of packaging so be prepared for a lot of waste to dispose of.Once you get into it and lay all the various bits out it is quite easy to see how to go about construction as the instructions are good and all bits well labelled including all the various fittings. One thing is not mentioned is that you need a Philips screwdriver - you only discover that there is in fact one on one end of the larger Allen Key which you only need near the end of construction. No problem for most as you probably have one anyway.I would say that to suggest 1 person and 1 hour to put it together is a bit hopeful! It is certainly easier at various stages to have another pair of hands especially the initial stage of sides, back and base. Also definitely the door fitting. It is also a good idea to consider which order you will assemble your TV/recorder/receivers etc. with their wiring as the final bit of sliding in the side panels means access is restricted as it will be too with its positioning - its quite heavy with the glass bits.Overall no problem if you have assembled this sort of thing before and certainly looks as good as the pictures suggest. Good value and perfect for my 55" TV.

Shall I - Shan't I
After reading the somewhat mixed reviews on this product I was in a dilemna as to whether to buy or not. Fulfilled by Amazon the unit arrived in double-quick time but as to the product itself. The package is heavy weighing 35 Kg so needs two to move it around. It is well protected in polystyrene and arrived undamaged. The instructions are very clear indeed with good illustrations. Every nut and bolt is in a separate plastic bubble and clearly labelled so identification from the instructions cannot be misconstrued. The hinges and the brackets and the magnetic door closer are all of good quality. The doors (despite what others have said) all lined up very easily. Every predrilled hole was in exactly the right place. Supplied was even a small screwdriver and an allen key. What does it look like? Fabulous and all cables are easily hidden. Both my Humax recorder and Sony sound system react to the remote control through the glass doors every bit as well as they do normally.Someone commented on the wood being cheap. In my view it's fine and you get both the light and dark wood options. Finally, this product is cheaper than other similar tables for sale on Amazon and in my view is far better looking. I am impressed. So, "Shall I, Shan't I" - I'm very glad I did!

sirius 1200 cabinet.
Absolutely stunning piece of furniture for my living room. Was looking for ages for the right width, my 50 inch panasonic fits this perfectly, the matrix pattern on the black glass even matches the outer edge of the TV and the stand! I am a 57 year old female and this took me just over one hour to put together. Instructions very clear and easy to follow, all the holes were 100% accurate. Trickiest part was the doors but lets face it, any door that you hang will have to be adjusted and it was just a matter of turning a few screws to get it right. I have 4 pieces of equipment in the cabinet that fit in really well and the remotes all work perfectly through the doors no problem. There has been some negativity on the plastic backing, this to me was again perfect for the job. It enabled me to manouvre around all the many wires and now everything is neatly tucked away. Who sees the back anyway, it is a corner unit!!! All in all i am very very pleased with this product, it is stylish modern and look much more expensive than the price i paid for it! I was expecting it to be more bulkier as well but it truly fits so snugly into the corner, it is eye catching! i give this 5 stars because it deserves it! I love it.....

A good unit with some limitations.
This was bought to sit my 50 inch LG plasma on and keep dust down to a minimum compared to the open type. Perfect width for the job.The build was fairly straight forward and did not take too long. I am fairly used to flat pack building. I advise cleaning all the parts before assembly. The doors can be a bit fiddly, but a little patience is all that is required to get them spaced correctly and closing properly.Neither of the wooden fronts were close to matching our existing furniture, so I hand painted them satin black. In my opinion, they look much better in black and make the unit look more complete. Try it yourself on the ones you decide not to use. If you do decide to change the wooden fronts after assembly, you will have to remove the top glass and lift the unit up off the floor to gain access to the retaining screws.I am not keen on the strength or support of the middle glass shelf. Be careful when in the unit fitting or routing cables. It's all too easy to lean your weight on it before realising. If you do decide to change the height of the middle glass shelf after the unit has been built and in use, you will have to remove everything from the unit to do so. The securing for the front metal support bar (just behind where the two doors close together) is only accessible by removing top glass and lifting unit off floor. The bottom part of the bar is held by one of the metal feet, the top by one screw/bolt. Even then, you would still have to remove both front doors to remove the middle glass shelf. The brackets that support the middle glass shelf have the securing screw through the middle of the brackets, so not accessible without removing glass first.I opted to lay the unit on its face and remove the plastic panels and rear wooden support instead, much easier. This was so I could fit my "customized" PC in the bottom of the unit. Due to the enclosed nature of this unit, insufficient cooling is allowed for the PC base unit, so it has been removed and substituted with a 10m HDMI cable instead. If you have any similar equipment that needs decent cooling (games consoles?), you will either have to leave the back panels off or consider the HDMI cable option instead. The metal feet for the unit have a very thin rubber coating on them. It makes the unit a bit tricky to move about on wooden floors. It has also mostly come off mine. I have had to fit felt pads to them to protect my flooring. Much easier to move now.Inside will not stay dust free, even with the doors closed all the time, but it is much better than the open type. The beam thru glass is excellent. Even with my Humax Freesat box and Sony Blu Ray player further up in the unit above the little "windows", there is no problem operating them with remote controls with the doors closed. The same applied to the Rii Mini i8+ I bought for use with my PC.Do not try to fit the plastic back panels after all the electrical equipment is in place unless you enjoy a real struggle. The "cable management" bit is rather misleading. It should just say you can use screws to attach your own 4 gang extension to the rear unit support. That's all it is. You will have to "manage" the rest of the cabling problems yourself, ie. bunch them at the back of your electrical equipment inside the unit and/or buy shorter leads or use cable ties for the rest.
