Took these on a cruise and they worked very well. Took up very little space in my suitcase. Good quality and sturdy for clothes.

No cross bar.
Great for hanging medium to small items, not recommended for heavy coats. Compact and light, made of medium strength plastic, perfect for dorms, trailers, overall nice for travel. My problem is that I'm unable to hang folded jeans/slacks and if there are no belt loops "we'll ". Overall they are useful.
