Great sub if good stylist not accessible
Got this several years ago, before covid. Despite living in megapolis, i repeatedly experiences bad or not good enough haircuts. Mind you, it was not cheap by any means. American, Polish, Italian hair stylists. Several years of at best average haircuts, and each and every time - something was very off with the fresh cut. Very visible after the first hair wash which i normally do right after stylist or that same evening... One side shorter than the other (many different stylists managed to do this - not intended).... or whatever else was done and i was always wondering what for am i paying this much? At some point I saw a reference to this product. Bough it on Amazon (though was told that a knockoff could be bought somewhere for fraction of the price). I did not do anything really fancy, but basic things - very much so. General length (i asked another person to help on this - works great), framing (myself), even layers one time (myself as well). Not claiming that this is a substitute for a professional, but at least my sides are always of the same length.... Only half joking here. Until i find someone who does a decent job ( i have middle length, and unfortunately had to resort to ponytail after each and absolutely every other haircut done by the 'pros') - this plastic thingy stays in use. Paid full price for a new set and would recommend it sincerely (try the used ones if not willing to pay full, these are plastic, they can be cleaned really easy if needed). Thank you!

Beginner and family friendly!
I have never ever cut hair before in my life. But I used these tools and the tutorial videos to cut hair so easily! I cut my mom’s curly, layered hair. I cut my toddler daughter’s hair into a bob, and I did a one length trim on my own long hair. The design helped make sure everything was level and secure. And I have already gotten more value out of it than I would a single hair cut. Definitely worth the money!

Works well for straight hair
Works well on my straight hair. Easy to use, however it did not work well for my daughter’s already layered hair.

I should have bought this years ago!
I cannot say how much I love this product! It's pricier than I would have liked, but I can see why now that I have it. I like the design and materials. It's made of strong plastic and has a sturdy latch at the end. I only fumbled a little bit when I first started using it, but then it was really easy to use. I love that it has the level in the middle so it's easy to see, but the blue straight guide could be longer. People with thicker hair might have a harder time with it.

It just cuts the front of my hair too short while hardly doing anything to the back.
I've been following the instructions, using the curved clip to cut my own hair. According to the instructions, you're supposed to flip your hair over your head and let it hang down, then put the clip on and use the level to make sure it's straight. Then you cut along the bottom edge of the clip. The problem is, the curve is too pronounced. If I follow the shape of the curve, it cuts the front too short and leaves the back too long. Then if I try to adjust the back to where I want it, it just makes the front shorter and shorter. So then I'm left trying to get just the longest part in the back into the clip and avoid cutting the front any shorter, which is quite difficult. I don't want to have to give myself bangs just to get the back of my hair to sit between my shoulder blades. I also don't want to to use the straight clip and just have a completely straight edge at the bottom of my hair. It's an interesting idea. If it worked well, it would have paid for itself already.

Easy Bang Maintenance for Dummies
With tip, I pay about $50 to get my bangs trimmed. My stylist does a great job (and I love someone playing with my hair), but maintaining it every month isn’t the best use of my money.I’ve tried trimming my bangs on my own and that was… disastrous. However, this clip has been a savior to my hair and wallet! I like the weight of the clip and the level - together they ensure an even cut. I still go to my stylist when I want a professional touch or a full on haircut, but this keeps the visits a bit more spread out.

Did Not Make the Cut for the Self-Cut Long, Layered, Forward Graduation
Because I AM environmental and health conscious and sensitive to chemical smells and there are no green-friendly salons in my area, as well as transportation issues, and for cost purposes i have been cutting my own hair for 7+ years now. When i saw this tool advertised it showed the model flipping her hair forward so she could cut her own hair with it. This is the entire reason i bought the product-i was excited about the prospect of being even more self-sufficient and no longer having to wait around for whenever my busy housemate might be around and available to do a quick blunt trim of the back base line of my of my hair so i can continue with my own self-cutting standard- Long-Layered Forward Graduation cut. I was also hopeful that the clips might make the whole precision edge layering easier and quicker. This was not the case at all! My hair is so fine and thin, that the large general clip was of no use at all- too wide and my hair just slipped out of the grip or would dangle unequally from side to side like a see-saw, or strands would fall out. So i moved on to the small clip that i presumed was meant for bangs and/or children's hair. This clip fit, but was super hard to get any kind of equal line in place, by myself, due to the long length of my hair in back, and flipping the hair forward just caused the clip to bunch up the bottom line of my hair unequally and strands kept slipping out (so could not do a straight blunt line cut in back). I was also initially excited about the idea of the level for cutting precision, but the bubble cannot be kept in place with self-cut of long hair in back, or when flipping it forward, and it cannot be seen well- even with glasses on and under bright lights. Also, for a self-cut the clips did not allow me to craft the correct angles required for slowly graduated layers that frame my face that a person with very fine, thin, straight hair requires a precision cut for- as there is not enough hair to hide any gaps or errors. After quite some time of trying, unsuccessfully, i went back to my old-school way of my manual hands-on cut. I can't say whether or not this product would be good for those cutting another person's hair, or those with different hair type, or shorter style than mine, or kids cuts at home, but for solo me, and my hair and particular cut this product did not make the cut. I returned it for a full refund as is their guarantee.
