Cats tend to prefer junk food once they taste it. This has no junk. I never feed my cats junk. What i will do is mix it in with the other high quality food. It lowers the magnesium phosphorus and ash which is better for kidneys urinary tract

Been giving her this for 4 days and I think I’ve wiped up off the floor all of it she’s eaten. This is even mixed with the adult Now cat food I’ve been giving her. Going to have to toss the rest out, and it’s not cheap.

My cat was enthusiastic the first day or so but now grazes occasionally when he's hungry. I'll admit he is always waiting for Temptations to reappear. Because of this unbelievable habit (what do they put in it?), he's a picky eater. Maybe your senior will like it better.
