50 amp wire is hard to bend in such small box.
Hard to bend #6 ga to get cover on. Kind of small. Not easy to get hex key into lugs. I took it apart in order to align lug screws so hex key could turn more tha 90 degrees, then it was hard get it back in place because wire for 50 amp is pretty stiff. Looks good and is sturdy. Haven’t plugged a generator in yet.

Works with #6 wire
Bought this box to replace a 30 amp inlet box that was mounted to the house when we purchased it in early 2021. This box was very easy to install on the brick exterior of the house. I added a thick rubber washer between the box and the brick at the top screw to allow the top to easily slide down over the box. I also used #6 wire and had no problem with the thicker wire. I followed the advice of another rater and made a 45 degree bend in the wire about an inch from the end, before removing the insulation. Once the insulation is removed the wire fits very nicely into the hole and lies parallel to the plane of the back of the inlet receptacle and the box. Completing the assembly was not that difficult after the wires were securely attached to receptacle. Also, I only left about 6 inches of wire in the box, just enough to work with. An electrician quoted me $900+ to install the box and connect to the transfer switch. Time to head down to Lowe’s to buy the generator.

Works great with my 11K inverter generator.
This and a PC5010-14 power cord connects my generator to the house. Sits under the rear deck, out of the weather. My only complaint is that it could use a little more room inside behind the plug. It gets tight with #6/3 wire plus ground.

Everything needed in a whole-house generator
The WGen9500TFc generator arrived in perfect condition with everything I needed to start it. Surprisingly, it included a 25-foot natural gas hose with appropriate quick connections. The backup generator is connected to the main electrical panel through a 50A inlet box, powering all lights and appliances, including a 5-ton air conditioner with a soft starter (of course, I would need to limit the number of devices powered simultaneously). Great generator!
