it's great. It worked perfectly for me to cut a ...
I have a feeling that the people giving this low marks don't know how to use it properly or didn't read the instructions on the package. When used as directed, it's great. It worked perfectly for me to cut a few smaller pieces out of a sheet of Plexiglass. It seems well made and has a good weight in the hand (that's what she said!).Just remember, this is not a CUTTING tool. It will not and is not supposed to cut through the plastic. Its purpose is to create a very sharp and accurate scribe mark on the plastic so that when you bend along the scribe it will cleanly snap off. And you will need to make several passes to get it deep enough. So just do what it says in the instructions and you shouldn't have any issues at all.

Great for cutting down PMMA ND Filters
Ordered myself a Matte Box For my Mirrorless Camera, and needed filters.Only found super expensive or very low priced sets made of PMMA.The PMMA filters were also larger than what my matte box would support.Idea! Find a tool to cut them down. Well it worked.See photos from when I fitted the filters after cutting. Also took a small Dremel and ground down the edges. This worked out perfectly for my small project, well worth the cost of the tool.Overall the tool fits good in the hand.Even has a small hole in the top of the handle for you to hang on a hook.Hope this was helpful.

Works, but took hours to cut 1/4 inch thick plexiglass
I recommend clamping plexiglass down and use a long straight edge to cut straight. Also, if you’re rounding the edges and/ or corners, use a Dremel with a diamond tip cutting circle. Good luck….

Didn’t work
Just scratch the top of the glass did not really cut it.

THE tool you need to cut plastic
Period. It takes patience as you need to score it repeatedly. The first score is key so the first couple you need to have a light touch especially with curves or a non-flat surface. Worth it to get a nice clean perfect cut. The handle makes it easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Don't be thinking you're going to cut polycarbonate with this tool alone!
I am rating this based on its ability to cut Plaskolite 0.09" thick Tuffak brand polycarbonite purchased at Lowes. I have no idea how it stacks up against other similar types of scribing tools.I scored the polycarbonate 10+ times on one side, and 2-3 times on the other side, very precisely. Even after almost doubling the sheet over onto itself, it never cracked along the score, or anywhere else. Did this product score the sheet? Yes it did - although I had to resharpen it several times, as it quickly became too dull to grab into the material. The instructions on the back of the tool's package said to sharpen it "as shown" but with no picture showing anything (insert clown emoji here).Eventually, I had to get out my metal shears, and just slowly shear the polycarbonate sheet along the scored lines, in order to cut it. The scoring added nothing to the process other than acting as a cutting guide for the shears. So, the utility of this Red Devil tool for cutting polycarbonate is a zero. The metal shears did it all, the Red Devil tool added nothing.Get yourself a good set of metal shears if you want to cut a couple of pieces of polycarbonate sheeting. If you need to cut a lot of them, get the exact saw blade recommended by the manufacturer of the sheeting, and use it. Neither the Red Devil nor a set of metal shears is suitable for cutting more than a few cuts, by hand.

No clue what I was in for...
I bought this item to cut acrylic/plexiglass for my project. Personally it was pure hell. But it wasn't because of the cutter it was because I wasn't well versed on what I was getting into at the time. Well, in the end the cutter does want is is suppose to do. I highly recommend this tool if you get one manufactured the same as the one I have. Be careful with projects and this is not something for a kid- strictly an adults tool.

It works
I build picture frames for my wife's artwork, and have struggled cutting the plexiglass. I clamped a heavy T square to the plexiglass and scored along the edge 10 plus times. On my first attempt, I hadn't scored the edges enough, so it was a jagged break. On my second attempt, I carefully scored the edges, in both directions, and had a very clean break.NOTE: this is a scoring tool, not a cutting tool, so follow the directions.
