Worked pretty well
Used it to unclog AC drain pipe, worked very well on the way in, taking it out was quite a workout but in principle if you are patient it will do the job. Just push the cable in, when you feel resistance turn well clockwise and then when you have no resistance it will go in. Used the entire length, then tried pulling out...it was stuck! OMG, don't panic, don't even use force, just roll the wheel counter clockwise, patiently, I mean it might of taken me 40 minutes to get it out, then eventually it has no resistance and came out with a simple pull. So arm yourself with patience, it won't get stuck. Better than going to the gym and of course cheaper than getting my AC tech who charges at least $250 every time I call him. Make sure after use the entire snake is pulled out, dried and apply WD-40 for future storage in order to avoid rust.

Worked well
Bought the snake to deal with a clogged tub drain. Although relatively inexpensive it did the trick and was not hard to use. Wear the gloves because you will get dirty and have to deal with whatever treasure you pull from the drain. I am very satisfied with the product.

try, and try again
garbage. Save your money. Go electric. They key to this hand powered snake is the screw lock. Pull 6" out, lock, twist and push together until the coil finds its way - can't let it double up on ya, it'll recoil and come flying out, spraying toilet water all over you. Be patient. Try again. And again. Get it going, untwist screw lock, pull out 6" more, twist until the coil sinks in a little more. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. All the while unscrewing and pulling , then re-screwing the key that locks and holds the coil in place while you twist the handle. Ok, Im somewhat coordinated, and determined, and it was working, finally! I was going to get out to sewer street level, have toilet that swirls and fully flushes the bowl, no back wash... and save myself a $700 plumber's bill in next month's maintenance statement, yes!! (I live in NYC. and had this procedure professionally performed in the past). Ok, so it's working, I'm feeling hands-on productive; another stop, unlock, pull, re-lock... re-lock. Re-lock re- what the, lock! Its not, lock! Why isn't it... darn! (I want this posted) I'm screwing in the correct direction , right?! There's no one else in the room. What the - uggh!!! @#%x#!!! Piece of... Ok, calm down. righty-tighty, lefty-loosey... its not holding the coil, why isn't it holding the coil from spinning with the handle... OH! Oh. Oh no. The screw is stripped. Really?!Now be careful when pulling out w/ an unlocked coil. A mini cobra twirling in reverse... I'm oversaturating here... but its spinning out on it's own. I wasn't holding it, and maybe some length pushed its way back into the device, but in total, I think I got 36 inches in. Inches. Not feet. The device has - oooh, I don't remember now... i think 30 or 32 feet. 35? I was going for the longest and cheapest - wanted those things; and effective of course. Durable? Sure, a tool you may have to use again should be durable... not this one. Should return it. Saved the box. Is it too late? I'll find another screw. I'll try again. Don't. Threads are too fine. Stripped another screw. And another. Still only 36 inches in. Piece of... garbage.Side note: using on a toilet? You are in that toilet. Hands holding and turning; and device is, has to be, held as deep into the bowl with as little as possible coil showing as u push and twist - the gloves that come with purchase are filling up. Gross. What does it matter now... take them off. Can you get all the water out of the bowl? How do you? Turned off the faucet. Flushed. Filled up again mostly. I'll try again later...

Gets the job done
I used this to unclog an AC drain line instead of paying a plumber to do so. It fit fine in the 3/4" line but was a little difficult to make 90 degree bends. You have to manually push the snake into the drain and then back into the unit. I noticed that the end of the snake is not connected to anything so make sure it doesn't come all of the way out and fall into your pipe. Also, it rusts within a few days so I dried it off and soaked it with silicone lube to hopefully prevent further rusting.

Did a fantastic job.
Clogged bathroom sink drain pipes. Between this snake and a wet/dry shop vac, I had this unclogged and cleaned up in about an hour. I have zero plumbing knowledge as well so that should clue you in as to how easy this was to use. The gloves that came with it were nice as well, so I didn’t get whatever the foul smelling black gunk was on my hands. Afterwards just clean off the snake before pushing it back into the holder.

Cheapvik
Cheap rooter not really easy to use under a kitchen sink where there is a clean out in the sink pipe. Pushed it into the pipe and turned it as per the instructions. The spring type rooter twists and didn’t really work as advertised. But at least may have determined where the clog was in the pipe. Used the other cheap item purchased (see my Wow Samshow review) with this to blow out the clog. So would try this cheap rooter again without any high expectations. Used with the other cheap bicycle type pump blowout device the clog cleared out but not without a maximum effort. Save a lot of time and money on a plumber this time
