Possibly the best bands I've used
These are probably the best bands I've seen. First off, ditch the tube bands. Having said that if you use bands in your routine you need these. Immediately upon opening I stretched out as far as it could bear before turning white. After using them for a while they showed no signs of tear or pulling apart / peeling. If you break these you are either overworking them or Martyn Ford! I believe the negative reviews and few that have flaked or separated were from over use/stretch or simply a defective product, which understandably happens. Bands have sort of a sweet spot. These arent bungee chords. If you use them like they're intended, to stay in the optimal range, or sweet spot then they will remain effective. Projected Weight is more than accurate. I purchased the purple and green and they are definitely in the range they claim to be. Such an awesome product. Thick, durable and a broad range of flex. Will definitely purchase more!

No Upperbody Strentgh
I had used Pull Up bands before, but never had my own personal set. I love these because I use them everytime I go to the gym.I was unsure of what resistance to buy at first so I went with my gut. But luckily you have me to help...I went with the green one because I am 139 pounds and can not do one single pull up. It gives me some resistance, but not too much. You will sturggle a little at first but that is just your body trying to get used to it.Right now I am currently using the green one (remember, I hardly any upper body strength) and have started with doing just 3 sets of 5. I figured once I can do that, I will move up to 3 sets of 10. After I can do the 3 sets of 10 with no trouble, I will move on to the purple band and just do the same as the green one.By far this is one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon. It is helping me get stronger and before you know it, I will be doing pull ups in no time.

Good product.
Well made, nice resistence. Ive been a tubing guy for a long time, saw that bands had become popular, but resisted. (Haha) Till now. I like the closed loop aspect. I use heavy duty caribiner type attachments in my home gym, so these bands are easy to attach, no need to tie off, etc...so I dont know about the wear and tear when it comes to that friction.Id buy more...

as expected
The product arrived as expected and performs as expected. Durability is the most important indicator of quality so only time will tell how these will perform but so far, it seems like a well constructed product. This is the second purchase I make for elastic bands - the first purchase was from an online retailer (fitness avenue) and the 1 3/4" Green #5 band that I purchased from them snapped (narrowly missing my face) while using them for assisted pull-ups. I decided I didn't need the green#5 band for pull-ups because it made them too easy so I purchased the purple one with functional fitness. I am 170lbs, and even though the recommended resistance for this weight is the green#5 band, I find it much more useful and challenging to use the purple band. I have also used the purple band for resistance sprints (with a partner holding you back) and the band holds up just fine. The resistance is significantly higher the first times you use the bands but as you stretch them out, they assume what I would consider the appropriate level of resistance for the color (as compared to other bands I have used in gyms). Overall satisfied but I will report back on their durability in some time.

Don't quit. Start with the right equipment and you'll be successful.
One would not be successful at doing a bench press if they tried to press so much weight that they couldn't do a single rep. But that's the situation many people find themselves in when starting a pull-up routine. Simply trying to pull-up too much weight. After two months of effort and getting to one and a half reps I needed help. This FF Pull up Assistance band set allowed me to immediately to 7 pull-ups and within a week I did nine. It's simple, I'm pulling up less weight and I'm doing the full range of motion. As I progress I'll use a lesser band just like I would add more weight when needed with any other exercise. Don't quit. Start with the right equipment and you'll be successful
