Q: How do you secure this to you dog? Is it elastic?

Yes, the belt is elastic and then there is Velcro to clasp it at the end. There is also an extra piece that you cannot see in the photo. There is another mini belt that connects to the dogs collar that hold the fin in place.

Q: Can my dog wear this in the pool?

Yes, BUT it's fabric and foam. I'd imagine it would last for a bit, particularly if your dog isn't diving under the water. This definitely won't stand up to much water use, though. My dog loves running around the house and the backyard wearing it!

Q: What size for a 45lb Belgium Malinois?

I got medium for my 20 lb pomeranian, maybe large or extra large. It has velcrove it's adjustable.
