So, you got selected to play bass in the band? Not used to those big old heavy basses? The short-scale Ibanez GSRM20 bass is your solution. Featuring a more compact body, a smaller neck, and a 28.6"-scale fretboard the GSRM20 will go a little easier on you than some other basses. This bass doesn't skimp on tone though, it has both P-bass and J-bass style pickups. To further help the rumble in your tone Ibanez has included the PHAT-II active bass circuit. Hold down the low end of that band with the Ibanez GSRM20 Bass.

Needs work............
I cant criticise the mechanics or sonics of this bass, and agree with all the positive the 5 star reviews. My only issue was the noisy pickups causing buzz, which mainly disappears when you play it as the instruments is being grounded through its strings.I am a bit OCD in this regard, so found it annoying. Reading other reviews on this bass other people also complained about it.Being a DIYer and good with a soldering iron, I decided to have a go at eliminating it.When I took the back off, I noticed none of the cables were shielded. The cavity was painted black and I thought this would be conductive to offer some shielding, but it wasn't.The first thing I tried was replacing the wiring with shielded cable. Surprisingly this had little effect. I had to dive in deeper.I took the pickups & bridge off & stripped the cavity. I lined everything with copper foil, including the pickup cavities, and shielded the wires coming from the pickups. I established continuity of the foil between all the cavities and also the back cover which had its own foil.I also replaced the ground wire to the bridge with a solid core copper wire.I put everything back together & fired her up. At first I thought the amp wasn't turned on...but it was. Dead silence.I would give this 5 stars now...but I has to do a lot of work on it!
