Size:1" Barb x 1" NPT Male This Anderson Metals brass compression hose fitting connector has a male end for connecting to threaded pipe conforming to National Pipe Thread (NPT) standards and a barbed fitting for connecting to a hose. The barbed fitting on one end creates a tight seal on flexible or semi-rigid hose when used with a hose clamp or crimp sleeve or ferrule (sold separately), and a male NPT connector on the other end connects to threaded pipe to form a tight, fixed connection This fitting is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Brass can be connected to copper, brass, plastic, aluminum, and welded steel, and the relative softness of brass threading when compared to other metals allows for a tight seal to resist leaks. This connector has a temperature range from -32 to +140 degrees F and is suitable for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing applications.Anderson Metals manufactures brass fittings, valves, and pipe nipples. The company, founded in 1951, is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.

This is the perfect product for transitioning from the black pipe from the ...
I bought the 1" Barb x 3/4" Male Pipe fitting to replace the steel pipe setup from the well that always rusts and leaks due to the very acidic water in the area. This is a very heavy duty brass fitting with a thick wall. The barb is big enough for two pipe clamps and fits securely in the black pipe coming from the well. It helps to pre-heat the black pipe from the well with a hairdryer. Now all the steel pipe is gone and we'll never have to worry about pipes failing or pin-hole leaks again. This is the perfect product for transitioning from the black pipe from the well to CPVC. The water eats copper pipes, so CPVC (or I suppose PEX nowadays) is the piping we must use due to the acidity.

A solid brass connector...
This connector is made of solid brass, not an alloy. It is very durable with well defined barbs. A very well manufactured product.I used this connector to connect a low pressure air pump to a PVC line, for my hydroponic systems. This connector worked well for me.I would recommend this connector to others...

Far away from the Pro-grade
This adapter definitely not a Pro-grade adapter:- the quality of NPT thread is not perfect,- the thickness of barbed fitting is not enough in comparison with the Pro-grade adapters,- the barbed fitting is extremely short (just 4 barbs) in comparison with the Pro-grade adapters (7,9,11 barbs). That means there is no room to install two or three clamps for the applications similar to the Deep Well Pump installation. See attached picture.- according to the product description this adapter "contains lead and are not allowed by federal law to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A. and its territories." Nevertheless, it costs like some of the lead-free adapters.

Excellent product, great brightness and even light dispersal. I wish I had replaced all my bulbs with these as you can definitely see how much brighter they are than adjacent LED bulbs.

Precisely What I Needed
I needed specific fittings for a the aluminum intake manifold on an engine I'm building. After looking at every hardware and plumbing store in town I finally turned to Amazon. Anderson Metals had exactly the fittings I needed and the price was very reasonable. The quality is excellent as well.

Fix/upgrade your Sears C3 air pump hose
I purchased this to fix my Sears C3 air pump hose and I also purchased a CTA Tools 1930 Straight Lock-On Air Chuck . It fits ~too~ perfectly in the hose. It will need to be hose clamped on or I used cable ties to secure. I wish I did not take a earlier review recommendation on a 3/16 inch and purchased one size larger like the 1/4" male to get more of a snug fit. To connect both brass parts, I used plumbers tape wrapped twice to stop air leaks. Use a cigarette lighter to carefully melt nylon webbing after making the cut to control nylon covering the hose from fraying.Tip: You can pinch the hot melted nylon beads to flatten and making it a even spread. Be Careful.. ..It is HOT and may stick to fingers if is really hot.Tip and Caution!I should also add.. that do NOT pump air if chuck is NOT attached to tire or you can possibly damage your pump because if not attached to your tire, you are compressing air in just the hose giving you pump some serious abuse. After filling air in tire, make sure to release compressed air left in the hose my pressing the metal in the air chuck.

Not what I expected but would work for normal applications.
I didn't realize that the barb itself was going to be so short. I was using it for a well and I needed to use double the clamps, so I wasn't able to use these. That was my fault though so I do not fault the product. Just beware they are for standard applications, not long barb applications.

Works great for automotive use.
3/4" Barb x 1/2" Male Pipe used where coolant hose connects to engine. My original coolant hose was a different size when adding an auxiliary coolant pump and used this item to replace the factory item that did not fit the new hose. This item installed as expected and is working great.
