24 Pack - Fuel, Compressed, Trioxane Ration Heating, .6 Oz Size Bar

As an avid outdoorsman and Army veteran. I have used these bars for 15 years in just about all environments from Jungle, to Norway winter, to Middle East Desert. I've used Esbit bars, Coulgan bars, Wet Tinder, waxed sawdust bars, and all types of homemade tinders. I will stick to these. They start with the fastest touch of a match or any flame. When all else fails I've used these because they always start, even over Wet Tinder. They are waterproof. If you light them under your tinder it burns for a good amount of time, if you light it on top of your small sticks it will immediately melt and spread all over the material. In an Esbit stove at sea level one will easily boil 8-12oz of water. That being said, once they are started, being waxy can be a hassle if you touch or them, but if you poke it with a stick it will transfer onto the stick. I use these for all of my campfires without fail and will continue using them as long as I can get them. If you can get a good deal, jump on it

It's gotten very difficult and expensive to buy GI trioxane heat tabs. When I found a 24 pack for $18 I thought I was getting a very good deal. It turns out that these are smaller than what I expected, I had only ever seen the larger version that we used for heating c-rats back in the day. These are approximately 1/3 the size of the bigger tablets. Overall though I am still pleased with my purchase.

Wanted to try these as a fuel source for a long camp trip. They don't burn as hot as I need them to, so they won't really work for what I was hoping, so we went with a wood gas stove. But they work great as a fire starter ... and the wood in the area we will be may be a bit damp, so they are going to be perfect to get fires going.

Trioxane is by far the BEST kindling hands down. This stuff is no longer manufactured as far as I know, so get it while you can. There's a reason this stuff was used by American soldiers during WWII. If it was good enough for America's "greatest generation" during war, I can honestly say it's definitely good enough for me to use camping.

So good I purchased more. good price fast ship. no nonsense. excellent. btw: they stopped making these in 1990, so stock up as you won't find a hotter more reliable heating tab anywheres, way better than the commercial ones. plus I onluy use these to get a fire going. so they will last a long while.

Wet or dry hands down the best way to start a fire fast in the field.. have used them for 20 years never a disappointment.. use it all or break of a piece it gets the job done fast.. fire within 1/2 min.

One of the best fire starter a little expensive but worth it lf u need fire. Becarefull the flame is almost invisible

I think these trioxane packs burn better than the other popular alternatives. The individual packets are perfect for rationing what you need in your pack. I wouldn't buy anything else now. Trioxane is the only way to go.
