High battery user and fiddly to replace
I have trouble hearing anyway so when in a noisy workplace it's a bigger problem. These are okay considering you can pay a lot more for similar. You have to put batteries in each ear piece (AAA's) which are secured with a screwed cover plate which is fiddly to replace. Think they may a loose connection on one side as the batteries keep running down.

Great value
I have looked for electronic ear defenders for some time but have thought that they were too expensive. These are great.Adjustable volume on each ear.Only reservation is that they take 6 batteries.Have not replaced batteries as yet so donot know how long they will last.Had comments from friends who cannot believe the price.Ordered item on line on a Tuesday night and received Friday morning. Excellent customer service. I have a friend who has ordered on my recommendation.

Great for shooting
My husband is really pleased. Very comfortable to wear and great for shooting. Blocks out the gun shots whilst still being able to hear the range officers

purchased for a friend but now a bit embarrised
I brought these as a gift for a friend that helped with a couple of jobs. He works on the gas mains with kangol ect he has told me that they amplify all the noises except the very low pitch of the digger ?

OK but not great
After my Peltors fell in a pond while clay shooting I wanted to replace them, and at the price and with reasonable reviews, I plumped for these as they looked quite good. However when they arrived I immediately realised that you get what you pay for and these chinese made ear defenders are are bit ropey but not quite bad enough to send them back as they'll probably stand up to light use but can't imagine them lasting. The moulding of the plastic casings and pads are not great and the sliding wires are very loose, whereas the plastic pivots on the ear cups are the opposite - very stiff, as are the volume control knobs which lack any on-off positivity (though the LED indicator is a nice useful touch). The front facing microphones are covered by a little sticker, as opposed to foam windshields on more expensive defenders, and are bound to fall of with use so will let dirt and moisture in - again a bit cheap and cheerful. They are actually quite comfortable to wear as the Chinglish instructions stae the are for, and I quote, "medium size weavers". As to noise reduction I would say they are weighted to higher frequencies as low end bassy frequencies don't appear to be attenuated to any great degree, but these are fine for general use. All in all I'd say they were O.K for occasional use such as DIY or a visit to a racetrack or the odd clay shoot, but for now I'm saving up for some Peltor SporTacs and wish I'd put the money I spent on these towards some better ones instead.

Venitex: Excellent protection and moderated sound
These are a very comfortable pair of ear defenders that are efficient at reducing unwanted sounds especially when shooting. Shooting is one area where the harsh crack of an exiting bullet or shot is rarely managed by non-electronic ear defenders at this kind of price.Switch them on and conversations, range/field commands and even whispered expletives are audible. Turn the volume down and they effectively cancel loud bangs but allow voices still to be heard.Fifteen years ago I bought a pair of electronic ear defenders (mono) at £85 and although they still work, are nowhere near as comfortable nor as effective as these. The fact that these are stereo is an absolute plus although at first I had no idea who was talking until I confirmed this by watching their lips. Which means that they pick up sound in an undirectional way unlike our ears that can distinguish direction. You do get used to it but it does seem a little strange. I had the volume too loud and that was the reason for the confusion. It is very easy to put them on the wrong way around and the experience is surreal but you do get to hear who thinks you are a lucky shot. The on off switch, or should I say switches as they have one on each side that are also volume controls means that you have to reset the levels every time you use them. Well at this price it's no big deal and therefore it's an inconvenience I can suck up. They are really nicely designed and one of the reasons why they are aethetically pleasing is the matt black almost peachflesh-to-the-touch finish. The graphics to the headband is a nice touch and nicely screen-printed.I have one small gripe and that would be that they could do with an on-off switch and separate volume control. Having stated that, I know that miniature switches are much bigger and more intrusive than rotating switch/volume controls and would spoil the overall design. However,a white dot and some incremental marks on the switch/volume controls would be useful, unintrusive and relatively cheap to apply.Overall, I am more than pleased with them. They look like a top Italian designer has created the concept and a top Japanese manufacturer has built them. Right down to the visual details like tiny Red LED's to let you know they are on. The big bonus at this low price is that they are handed where as many designs would be restricted to identical cups. That shows that the designer didn't have an accountant looking over his shoulder when he made aesthetic decisions and that's rare nowadays. Well done Venitex. Yes that's their name and yes it does sound like medical underwear. It's a good idea to stock up on AAA bateries as these take six (three on each side). I keep the clear plastic earphone separator on them when collapsed so that the rubber earpads do not distort. My other very expensive Peltor ones did and as a consequence there was sound leakage. If nothing else you have to buy a pair of these to make your head look more interesting especially if you are getting thinner on top.
