The dimmable LED features of this diving light has been fun to experiment with in different types of water and different lighting. It comes with red-light filters, which is a huge bonus, too, since I don't have to filter just my lens to get the lighting effect I want on my little action camera.I enjoy kayaking and swimming in local lakes and rivers, and I bought an action camera to take with me this year, and this little light is bright enough that I am able to see pretty far, even in full darkness (when the fish come right up to the light). I'm just an amateur, playing around with a new waterproof camera and underwater light, but the features on this thing is beyond what I was expecting, and the battery life lasts as long as I've needed it to, so far. I also like that it's rechargeable, so I'm not having to buy batteries for it. This little light really is more than I need, and everything I didn't even know I wanted.

This light has good output, on the high mode it is powerful enough for interior lighting for filming in the dark. It surely is very well sealed, with a silicon gasket on the back opening to the charging port and a single button to control the lighting modes. No way that I could test this at the stated 40 meters depth in the water, but I can tell this withstands being immersed in water, and that is enough for me to overcome this limitation in the common action camera lights. It comes with adapters for both action camera mounts and cold shoe slots as found on SLR cameras and camcorders. Everything seems to be of very good quality, and all work as expected.On the downside, the light does heat up more than other action camera lights, the flip side of the high level of output it provides. This should not be an issue when used underwater, and did not cause the light to stop working, so it’s more of an annoyance and something to plan for, as this light needs to be left to cool off before packing at the end of use.The charging port is a micro-USB, not the more modern USB-C. This limits the charging current to lower levels, and it does take a few hours to fully charge its battery. Also, there is no indication of the level of charge, there is only a red LED that lights up while charging and turns off when charging is complete. No way to tell how much is left in the battery while in use.The provided filters seem to be more about the aesthetics, not sure if any of the provided filter colors may make a difference for underwater filming. I expected a red filter, or maybe a green one. The pale pink filter is the closest to what is needed underwater. And the filters are not standard, they are proprietary, cannot buy different colors of them elsewhere.The instructions are intelligible and detailed, but are omitting the basic info on how to access the charging port. I am attaching a few picture that show the latch mechanism for the back panel, which has a tightly fitting silicone gasket that makes it not easy to open.I would forego all the above drawbacks if it wasn’t for the lack of warranty: for such a device, I really expected some warranty beyond amazon’s 30 day return. I cannot give a full five star rating, even though the light is very good and very well made.

This is a nice light with attachable filters that you can utilize with your action camera or DSLR camera while diving. The light works really well in my testing and the ability to add colored filters is a nice touch. The only thing that I really noted that wasn't quite up to snuff is using the older style mini usb plug vs. a USB-C plug.

The media could not be loaded. I couldn't believe this light is actually powerful. The highest light is capable to light up dark pool locally. The low light is ok. The third light is SOS. It's very thoughtful to include the SOS mode. This light is not just for underwater use, it can be used on land as well. The low light mode is sufficient for my use. It's great since I can keep the light mounted in both settings: water and land. I can put this light, my DJI Action camera on top and a tripod. The insulation is very tight.I like that there 4 filters included. The filters help soften the light and modifies the color temperature. The filter is very secured. It won't fall off easily. I need to use my two hands to put this on or remove the filter. The clear filter is great to soften the light. The orange filter is great to give a warm light effect.One downside of this light is it still uses micro USB. Why doesn't it use USB C, which is more available nowadays.

This little light packs a punch. It's bright - like, 700 lumens bright - which makes a huge difference. The three lighting modes are perfect for different situations. There's even an SOS flash mode for emergencies, which is a great safety feature for dives.The battery life is impressive too. I can easily get through a whole photo shoot on a single charge, even with the high mode on for a good chunk of it. Plus, it recharges quickly with a micro USB cable, which is super convenient.Another thing I love is how versatile it is. It attaches easily to my camera with the cold shoe mount. The four color filters are a nice touch too, letting me adjust the white balance for different conditions.Overall, I'm super happy with the AKASO Underwater Light. It's a lifesaver for anyone who wants to capture stunning footage. Highly recommend!

I ordered this video light to go with my action camera that’s made by the same manufacture. Both the action camera as well as the light work well. I highly recommend this product compared to other products of similar design.This also cost a lot less than some of the namebrand stuff that you will pay for five times as much. So if you don’t need the namebrand stuff, this is perfect for you.

I use this underwater light with my GoPro, and it works perfectly. I use it while snorkeling and also have amount under my kayak. Battery life is decent. The brightness and adjustable lighting modes are ideal for capturing clear underwater footage. The build quality is excellent, and the light is easy to attach with the cold shoe mount. I also appreciate the included color filters, which help adjust the white balance for different conditions.
