if you buy the full lifesaver4000 filter replacment kit from lifesaver they send you 8 of these carbon filters because every so many liters it should be changed, i keep 8 of them in my maxpedition and 1 in the chamber and change them every 500 liters or so, this keeps the water tasting fresh and it eliminates a lot of chemical additives... great little product and everyone should have one, let's replace bottled water with the lifesaver and it's tiny carbon filter.

From pics expected it to be the size of a carry water bottle, but not much bigger around than a fat marker, and shorter than a salt shaker. Didn't expect to still taste chlorine in the water though it was nice and clear.

Obviously I haven't used it yet, but the quality appears good, and I found the stats and price to be the best out there.

nerved got to use, 4000 bottle I bought stopped working days after the one month return policy. np reply on assistance non could reach sellers of bottle... so unless someone assists me, unfortunately this great bottle will be added to the plastic trash pile that i hate having to do..

The carbon filters are very necessary with the Lifesaver bottle since the heavy metals,pesticides etc. can't get past this part of the filter. I'll always have four spare on hand for my bottle.
