VinodV-5.5L Splendid Plus Handi Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker, 5.5-Liter

This is a 4-5 people portion size pressure cooker. It is heavy bottom and cooks really well. There are two problems with it - which frankly I got the hang of and doesn’t bother me at all.1) the lid id little hard to close. There is a trick (or a particular point to start sticking with cooker body) to close its lid. You keep it at that point and press from top and twist it. This gets really hard when pressure cooker is HOT. So i would be mindful of that before purchasing it.2) This cooker DOESN’T WORK WELL for reheating the food. Whenever I try to reheat OR re-pressure cook, the food gets burnt even when there are plenty of water in my food. This is really not acceptable.I couldn’t return this because I needed a pressure cooker real bad. Aside from these 2 problems, this works well for cooking indian food.

I just ordered this pressure cooker a couple days ago and was really looking forward to receiving it. Shipping was fast, but it arrived with the lid handle broken in two different places. Unlike the base, the lid was not securely packaged in the box to prevent it from moving around while the package is being transported. Still, I'm not all that impressed by stuff that breaks so easily. The box looks like it was previously opened so I'm not even so sure that this product wasn't previously sold. I'm going to contact Amazon about sending me a replacement lid, but this thing looks old and its now out of stock so replacing the part may not be possible. If they can't send me a replacement lid then I will be sending this back to Amazon. Very disappointing!

1. Based on current picture, there is supposed to be a glass lid. It was missing. Others have also complained.2. The cooker lid handle - black plastic chipped. Very irritating....3. Cooker works as intended. So it’s burdensome go return. Will Vinod or it’s distributor at least respond

Pros:> Good stainless pan body and cover (heavy pan body, well-made)> Durable silicone sealing ring (should last for many years)> Sturdy bakelite handles (well designed)Cons:> No safety lock (cooker can be opened when pressurized)> Poorly executed drillings (inadequately deburred; poor finish with sharp edges)> Highly reactive aluminum internal hardware (arrived corroded; corrodes readily)After much consideration, the decision was made to return this product. The safety lock issue could be overlooked by us, as we have no children around while cooking; and the drillings were properly finished in fairly short order with some strong basic hand work. The cooker operated well.What killed the deal for us was the terribly reactive (cheap) aluminum fittings which would not stop producing corrosion byproducts in use and in storage. This presents both health and durability issues which simply could not be overcome without a refit of the affected items; something which I have no time for at this point. It was with regret that the item was returned to Amazon for what amounted to less than a dollar's worth of corner-cutting on the manufacturer's part.As an aside, there was also some concern raised over the chosen emergency release valve design. There is a good probability the active component is composed of a lead-based alloy which is directly presented to the contained foodstuffs during cooking. A simple lead test applied to the fusible pellet would tell the tale here; but, since the item was returned due to other issues, I will defer to others in this assessment.In sum: Good performance, generally good design; just a few crucial cents from perfect...

The description for the product I ordered was inaccurate. It read that it is a Handi stainless steel pressure cooker with extra glass lid. Though I like the cooker, but I didn't get what I ordered due to the faulty description.
