Excellent Product
This meter/monitor is vital if you want to figure out what devices in your house are using more power and how much they are using. Works very well for off-the-grid living!

Very easy to use Power Meter!
I loved having the buttons to push. One I could push to see how many watts was being used by each of my appliances and electronic devices. I also used it for 48 hours with a refrigerator, then I pushed the kWh button to see how many kWh it had used for those 48 hours, and I then divided by 2 to get the kWh per day. So using this, I could figure out how much this refrigerator was costing to run each month. Very nice and easy to use!

Definitely worth the money
I bought this with the hope of tracking my electric power consumption and saving a few dollars. It paid for itself within the first *day*. Granted, that's because I found and traced an inefficient chest freezer that I was able to remove from service, so someone else's results may vary, but I've been able to reduce my electric consumption by about 20% simply by tracking down wasteful power consumers and either turning them off or replacing them with more efficient models.I like being able to measure and record power consumption over time, since that lets me plan for future improvements even though I may not want to (or be able to) replace something right now. It's taking some time, since I like to gather data for a long time to get better average consumption rates, but if I ever decide that I want to do it more quickly, I'll just buy more of these. It's proven to be worth every cent.

Gotta Have It!
The media could not be loaded. P3 makes three (that I know of) versions of their Kill-A-Watt device. The one I have is the P4400 model, which is different from the P4460 or P4456, which offer more information (at slightly higher prices). Amazon has all three for sale, singly or in various bundles. The operating range for this model is the common household 110-120 volt range. Amazon offers a variety of power usage monitors, including some which can handle up to 240V.This device provides a simple display of commonly useful readings. My observation is that almost all household devices *exaggerate* their actual statistics. The video shows a room heater that uses a dual switch, which allows three power levels. The meter shows that the actual power usage is less than is marked. The heater also has a thermostat, but turning the dial to the maximum does not affect the power reading at all, which means that the thermostat can only limit the current after the switch(es). It does not regulate the wattage the heater is drawing. The thermostat regulates the power going to the heating element. I would not have realized that without seeing the Kill-A-Watt display. As far as the accuracy of the meter is concerned... I dunno; I don't have any way to verify the readings. They are consistent, but they *could* be consistently wrong. In actual usage, the readings generally seem to be correct. Four stars out of five for Accuracy.

Very Useful... An RVers Gotta Have!
Buying this one since my Son-in-Law ran off with my first one. Works great. It will suprise you on how much and how little power some thing use. When I build my Solar System for my RV, This thing was an Essential Tool for determing my Power needs, and how much of a solar system I needed. Great around the house also.

I would recommend to anyone
When it arrived, it wasn't operational. I had another one 3 days later no questions asked. Thank you very much.

Easy to use, just plug it in and read the numbers
Assuming the meter is accurate (and I have no way to tell if it is or isn't), this is a terrific meter, very easy to use, the LED screen has very large numbers (except for the units--W, kmh, etc.). I've seen numerous complaints about reading the gage--it's VERY EASY, just bring a flashlight. Just plug this into the wall socket, plug in your appliance, select the button that tells you what you want to know (several are available--volts, amps, watts, kwh); there are actually TWO readouts per button--press the "kwh" once, you read the "kwh--kilowatt-hours" (this is energy, this is what the electric company tells you you've used in a month), press it a second time, you get the amount of time the meter has been plugged in. I can't think of any reason why people are complaining about this gage. I'd even buy another one, if the "maxima" on volts, etc. are increased, and I can plug a 220 volt in (say for washer/dryer/refrig, and other high voltage appliances).

A cost effective device for Green energy installations
The P3 International P4400-VP Monitor has been a low cost but effective tool to measure the net metering power that we push back to the grid. Our R&D site uses this to keep a record of the efficiency and capabilities of our wind and solar production vs. power consumed. Other devices might work but this model number and this specific device gives power in watts, KW hours accumulated, VA if needed, current, Voltage, and power factor. All these sinewave and power mathematical readings are not always found on such a low price device.

Saving Money!
Recommend by Steve Maxwell, Bailey Road Newsletter, in Ontario. We have finished checking the phantom power in our home and next we will tackle the cottage. This has helped us cut down on wasting energy in our home. Took out bedroom TVs and are now using our tablets. TVs not in use regularly have been unplugged and main tv is on a smart bar/timer. Looks like we are on the way to saving 10-15% of our annual hydro bill. Great product. Instructions were clear. Should have bought this years ago.

Awkward design covers both outlets of a standard plug; hard to read in low light conditions
My earlier version of this was the same but it is reporting a higher voltage (but seems to still accurately record the proper kwh based on independent measurement). In low light situations, it is hard to read the screen. If you use a flash light to illuminate it directly (led style), you see all the possible display values in the lcd display. Must use an indirect light source to read the value.
