American Originals EK1071 Electric 12-Hole Cake Pop Maker for Fun Cooking, Red

The idea is gret and before purchasing I borrowed a friend's pop maker which made 6 at a time. I thought this s great so bought this model which made 12 , thinking it would speed up the process however not the case. Unlike the sweet treats model it bakes unevenly, the bottom is fine but the top part is too pale. Lid also extremely difficult to open. Wish I'd bought the other brand now as 6great pops are better than 12 poor ones.....

An excellent machine. I bought to do cake pops with my 5 year old grandson. We have had great fun. It took three attempts to get the correct amount of mix for a perfect 'pop'. It also taught him the meaning of trial and error! I made a straight forward Victoria sponge mix recipe and filled the mix just proud of the lip, this filled the whole sphere when cooked without much leak. A couple had a bit of a centre lip but I just used a knife to cut off the little rim. My grandson was happy that they took just 5 minutes to cook and working out how many cakes we could have in 15 minutes - delighted we could have 36 - lots of cakes when you're only 5. It does get very hot but then it is a cooking machine!! (Another lesson for the grandson re health and safety which under whelmed him lol). So, great machine - it only there was something so easy to put the coating on afterwards, that was NOT so successful as the cooking.

I thought the cake pops would be bigger so I was quite disappointed. They look a lot larger in the pictures. It does cook them really fast though.

Bought this to try making cakepops for first time, Lovely retro packaging. Includes cakepop make and sticks, instruction booket is very clear and includes a recipe to get you going which is good. Cake pop maker produced great results. Only coment is they came out alot bigger than I had expected - bigger than any cakepops I had seen/bought elsewhhere. Maybe because this is an american brand. However they are so delicious who would complain at having bigger cakepops?It is easy to use and easy to clean - GREAT

Good idea but I was really disappointed with result as the maker does not cook evenly, burns the outside and does not cook inside, especially if creating dairy -free and gluten -free cake pops for consumers with food intolerances.

This is great it came yesterday so only had to wait about 3 days for it. Its cool it looks very retro and comes with two packs of the lolly sticks(25 in each pack) I didn't realise that so I order some more. It has an instruction book and a couple of idea for cake mixes but I guess you can use anything you like. I did overfill it the first time round but you get used to how much cake mix to use after a couple of times. Just be careful when you are opening it as the catch does tend to snap I just used a tea towel to open it as it gets hot anyway. Once the cake pops have cooled I just pop them in the freezer for a while to cool them down completely that way the chocolate sticks better. I did use ordinary cooking chocolate which I found a bit thick so I have ordered some chocolate fountain chocolate as supposed to be good. Its a bit messy with the chocolate dripping etc and toppings all over the place but its good fun! Next time im just going to put a load of paper on the table easier to clean up that way. Im going to wait for my special chocolate before I make some more hopefully next week, I might experiment with different topping this time!

Took this machine home for my grand- daughter to use but I'm afraid I can't allow her to use it. Bad design makes the opening pretty difficult & the lid gets extremely hot - just not too safe for kids to use - not adults either if you're not careful. Pity because its a great idea
