Liars Like Us: 1 (Morally Gray) Paperback – 21 May 2023

I am kicking myself for having this on my TBR for so long. This was a great book, amazing and complicated characters, great story, humour and spice. Utterly enthralling - going straight to read book 2 now

This storyboard plenty of humour in it . I read the first Seven Chapters waiting for Callum s point of view but it didn't arrive . Then checked every chapter down to the last seven and found out it was all in One Point of view Emery s .I read the last seven chapters I am really sorry but I cannot read books in single point of view they give me a headache . What I did read seemed quite good but just to monotonous in my head . I would have like to read inside callum's head .

Honestly there is not a book I have read by this author that I haven’t fallen completely in love with. I think I’m on to book 8 now…I love the writing style, the story, how quickly you are swept up in to these worlds without ever feeling like you’re being rushed, it’s forced or too quick. The flow in all these books is so seamless.The little side part with another bad ass character from her other books (no names, no spoilers) was a nice touch. How this book is a standalone but also in a small way tied to the other series was so clever. No issue if you haven’t read any other books.It was such a intriguing plot, so morally grey and yet the MMC was so irresistible. The banter between him and the FMC was captivating and hilarious.Honestly am one of the biggest fans of everything this author writes and just inhale these books so highly recommended to anyone who loves a slightly unhinged man who will do whatever is necessary to get his girl and give her the world she deserves

Callum and Emery had me in a choke hold. For REAl. I knew going in Cal was not a hearts and flowers kind of guy but this morally grey man had me thirsty and curious.Emery is hilarious. Her monologue had me in stitches because she just could not keep her mouth closed, all her internal thoughts were out there. All the crazy, all the dysfunction. It was so relatable given her circumstances. She wad fiesty but not obnoxiously so. Justified in her concerns but also... the man is hot and there is only so much control!.They had me creased. The bickering and banter .. elite. The chemistry!!!! Holy moly. It was off the charts.The way this author has the story flowing is just perfection. Honestly not one complaint.If you love yourself a morally grey man who isn't doing the right thing for any reason. Who's actions are purely for his own selfish wants? But it's equally delicious. Then my friends this is your read. Also a woman who stands for herself and doesn't take any bull? .. this is it.Now onto the next!

There were so many OTT sentences like seeing him nearly made my vagina fall out or something like that at the beginning that I was thinking that I wsnt going to finish reading it, it was nothing like the excellent pen pal.But I did carry on, and it did get better.Good characters and although it was an easy storyline to guess it was a good and passionate read.Extra bonus points for the outlander references which is my favourite book also.

Loved these characters and the fab banter, spot on with the spice too and lovely to see Killian again. I love Callum and Emery, they are perfect together. I actually love Cole too, I have read his story and I was gutted with his it ended, but this one brought me back round :) thank you

Emery is trying to keep her family bookstore afloat and is frankly drowning. When a chain opens right next door she is ready to throw in the towel, who can compete with that?Then Callum McCord swaggers into her life, offers her millions of dollars to marry him and stop him being disinherited. That will solve all her problems in one go.She is drawn somewhat reluctantly into his scheme, seeing it as the only way to save her business. As she gets to know Callum it becomes clearer that her new husband is unhinged and all is not as it seems. Callum has more secrets than the magic circle.Emery is a kickass woman who quickly learns how to manipulate her husband and his crazy obsession with her. Callum is crazy in love with his new wife but is hiding more than she could ever guess from her. I love the way my all time favourite " book boyfriend" from previous books wanders into this story. His presence quickly gives this story a whole new twist and trust me when I say there are so many great ones.This book will have you captured beginning to end. The characters are fabulous, as long as you are prepared to forgive the slightly off white morals of a few of them. Nothing I can write here can do this book full justice, you really just need to grab it and read it for yourself. You won't regret a single minute.

As usual JT Geissinger blows me away with her imagination! Emery is struggling on every level of her life. Suddenly a disgustingly handsome, billionaire offers to solve all her problems. Callum claims to need a bride to fulfill a family obligation and he wants Emery to be that woman. Emery does not let Callum get away with anything (that she knows about) when he tries to manipulate every aspect of her life. Well, except in the bedroom and she really does enjoy his bossy side there. Talk about hot! 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Emery was strong, loving, determined and a little lonely. Callum was intelligent, manipulative, caring, loving and a bit broken. To be honest I would have liked a little more of his back story, but in the end it did not take away from the story. I loved seeing old friends popping back to say hi! He lies to her to get her in life and to stay. She lies to him to protect her heart. In the end the lies almost tear them apart. This story was pretty crazy, lots of fun and scorching hot. Loved it! It gave me so many You’ve Got Mail vibes, without the mail, but on viagra!

Emery & CallumGawd the banter between Emery and the girls, as well as her inner dialogue with herself, had me in stitches.The witty banter between Callum and Emery, I was cracking up.Ok let’s be honest, I was cracking up through out the whole book. This is one of the funniest books I’ve read.Callum is one possessive alpha, with the need for control…ok LOTS.He’s got an incredible filthy mouth who gets what he wants…i don’t think he knew what he was signing up for with Emery 🤭You can’t deny the chemistry between them, a little unhinged…I eat it up! Loved every minute of it.Gawd I loved Emery and her quirkiness. Oh boy did she keep Callum on he’s toes.

Well, JT, your stellar storytelling magic never ceases to amaze me! It’s safe to say that Callum and Emery become a married couple like no other. These two characters are SO memorable and their incessant continuous witty bantering is off the charts!!!! Callum is enigmatic, charismatic, generous to a fault, a boldface liar, sexy, and caring all wrapped into one unique individual. Emery is a financially stressed, stand on your own two feet small business owner who gets sucked into the vortex of Callum’s unusual proposition. Then the wild roller coaster ride of revelations begins and let me tell you, it’s one crazy, unforgettable journey. The communication between these two will have you in stitches laughing and grinning. Masterfully written!This story plays out with many twists and turns and is SO entertaining! The heat is off the charts. Very sexually explicit scenes which were a little too graphic at times, (my opinion). However, the story itself made the read well worth it.There is a cameo appearance of one of my favorite characters from past series. If you’re a fan of Ms. Geissinger’s books you may realize who I’m referring to. I won’t spoil it for you. I would be amiss if I didn’t praise the Audible narration for this book. What an amazing production. It adds so much to the story.The storyline can be best summed up by the following passage in the book when Callum states, “There are a million shades of gray between good and evil. Am I on the darker end of the spectrum? Yes. Am I a bad man who does good things or a good man who does bad things? Both.” This passage gave me pause to reflect on this perspective and how it is the truth of many scenarios in life.Take a chance with this story. You won’t regret it. JT, your creative mind and storytelling skills are to be commended. Can’t wait for Callum’s brother, Cole’s story. I have to wait for the Audible to be released to fully invest in it. 5 plus stars!!!!!

The 1st book of the 3-book series is the story of the eldest McCord child - Callum who's paired up with Emery after whom he has lusted from afar for the past 5 years! The unraveling of the same is quite interesting. It is a great read, keeps you engaged with the witty conversation between various characters (not limited to just the protagonist), passion, intrigue, and a strong portrayal of Emery who's able to hold her own with Callum who is a super Alpha male, the 5 yr plan of Callum to claim Emery.Go ahead download & read, you will enjoy the story & how it plays out. It's part of the KUL subscription.

Absolutly amazing! Intelligent, sexy and funny...one of the best romance books I read! And there were a lot!Love it!

Emery has inherited her parents' bookshop, which is on the brink of bankruptcy and when a new chain of bookstores opens across the street and the IRS are calling, the rent is increased etc. she is at her wits end. In walks Callum, an unknown billionaire whom asks her to marry him. This marriage will benefit him and her and so their story begins! Lies, secrets and an attraction that cannot be denied.Callum loves Emery with all he has and although you morally shouldn't you can't not fall in love with him. Emery agrees to the marriage so she is able to save her bookshop but more important to save the people she calls family. Callum has a secret life that Emery slowly discovers and will finally make her pack her bags! Callum gives her space but has Killian keep a watchfull eye on her. Callum's love is strong and so is Emery's but she feels betrayed. Of course there is a happy end.I loved this book and read in one go during a sunny afternoon. I just couldn't put it down. The banter between Callum and Emery is so funny, I just laughed out lout, Emery is a hell of a cookie. All and all it is a must read. Callum made me swoon, and perhaps it shouldn't but it did. Callum and Emery are a great couple. I cant wait to read Cole's story, I have pre-ordered it straight-away!
