I was expecting this to be a little bigger based on previous reviews. Our son is 6, wears size 6 or small shirts. He’s 48in (4ft) tall on the mark. This is the size 7/8 (140) on him and I was hoping he would have enough space for a thicker sweater as it starts cooling off, it’ll be a little snug and doubt he would be able to wear a fleece.It’s a gorgeous jacket and I’m not disappointed in the quality but rather the reviews. Hoping my detailed review will help you pick the right size since the measurements didn’t include a waistline.

This is not what you might expect in a typical raincoat, and I was pleasantly surprised. By that I mean the jacket is had very good rainproofing, but is not completely waterproof. This lends unexpected benefits in terms of being extremely soft and comfortable for my toddler to wear. The lining is made a light jersey flannel fabric, and offers a bit of warmth if there's a chill in the air. The jacket is so lightweight that I can easily tuck it away in any purse or bag just in case we need it, and because the jacket also offers good windproofing we also don't need to carry an extra jacket with us. My toddler wears this on the playground, at school, and while riding his balance bike and stays dry. A word about that...as I mentioned, the jacket is not completely waterproof, so if it's pouring cats and dogs and you need to be outside for an extended amount of time, I'm certain the jacket would eventually soak through. For our needs it's fine. Our son will soon turn 3, and we've been wearing the size 3T since he was 2.5. The sleeves are a bit long, but it's not an issue at all and we just roll the sleeves once - this jacket would also work very well on taller children. The extra room will ensure he'll probably be able to wear this coat until he's 4.

I was looking for a "rubber" type of rain coat and read the reviews and learned that it was not what I was looking for since it is more of a fabric type, so I did not order it. A few days later, my wife ordered the coat since I had not found the right coat yet. The coat is fine to use for a regular light coat, but "Rain" coat is a bit misleading.

We have received so many complements on this jacket. Toddler loves is. His teacher laughs because he always talks about “mommy got this jacket for me and it’s my favorite” not even exaggerating.It’s warm but not to warm. Perfect fall or spring jacket. We wear it in heavy rain or just walking on a windy day.

It's a bit big but nothing time won't fix. The outside quality is good. The inner, hmm not so warm. But it serves a good rain jacket and on colder days with a sweater. I really liked the nautical look to it although the stripes on the inside are black. But I bought matching rain boots from target and you can't even tell.

This coat is great, except the fabric sleeve ends pill like crazy after every wear. I have to pick them all off once we get back home from him wearing it all day. Otherwise they would look terrible and only get worse the next time he wore it. It's not a big deal, but I've never had this problem with a coat before and it's a slight annoyance.

This is a great jacket for my four year old. Durable, well made, and blocks the rain well. Hood is functional, as well. The liner is a soft cotton stripe, which is both fun and comfy. I cut off the weird red/white/blue tabs because to me it looked like the French flag (??) and was distracting. Other than that, I love the jacket!

Great jacket! Nice clean lines beautiful sage green perfect spring jacket. It was bigger than i thoguht it would be. Bought a 4t so it would be a bit big (so it can still fit him next year) it fits like a size 5. But its okay because he will grow into it

Very nice colour and thickness, but made very small. Bought size 4-5 for a 3 year old and it barely zipped up. Aside from sizing issue it was a very nice coat.
