VSX Modeling Headphones - Essentials Edition

I had a pair of monitors that were okay, but the room I was in was an apartment so I could basically never ever use them. I love that these simulate different environments that I can test my mixes in, and I then can take to my friend’s studio to test the mix also. These have been amazing to mix with, and I would definitely recommend trying these. I bought the expansion pack as well which I would say is also worth it. These are solid quality, and the fit is quite comfortable. Definitely try them out!

Well worth the money. I upgraded to the Platinum version as soon as I tried the VSX plugin with the headphones.Sound quality is fantastic. The headphones are comfortable on my small head.My mixes sound better after mixing with these headphones and the plugin.I would highly recommend this to anyone who is serious about getting professional sounding mixes in less time and with less guess and check.It’s also a lot of fun to choose between the different mix room simulations, which sound phenomenal.

These were a birthday gift for my son, who spends a lot of time doing sound design. He had asked for them specifically because they're known to be high quality. He is very happy with them and uses them almost daily in his work. He says the audio quality is fantastic and they're comfortable even after long periods of wearing. Highly recommend!

I purchased these headphones explictly for mixing music. I found that these headphones gave me a true representation of the sound without adding any EQ enhancements (a flat sound) which is required for accurate mixing. The software that it comes with is a nice addition, however it is not required to get good mixes.

These headphones are a very helpful tool for me. I recommend these for anyone who has a poorly treated room. They are very detailed, and when used to dial in your final mixes they will get you very close to what your sound deserves.The accompanying software installs very easily.I have also used a pair Beyer Dynamics DT 770s for over a decade. I find myself going between the headphones to compare against each other. I don’t think any headphone on the market is as ruggedly built and comfortable as the DT 770s… I used those along with Sonarworks software. That is an ok combination for tracking, but when it comes to mixing, as far as accuracy and detail of sound are concerned… The Slate headphones with the software are pretty revolutionary, and they reveal the things you need to hear if you are going to mix with headphones. Glad I made the purchase.

These are awesome and work great to get a decent mix BUT they won't replace standard studio monitors. I mix on both to reduce noise in the house from my monitors (Mackie MR8's) but always have to tweak the final product through my Mackies

Like the headphone but the cord I had to replace with a a more durable aftermarket cord.

The headphones themselves - purely as hardware - are a 5 star. The software, however, is a 1 star. Average them together and that's why I gave a 3 star (since I can't select 2.5) Sorry to say, but I found the plugin to be absolutely garbage, unhelpful, and pure garbage. That said, I'm not "mad" that I bought this product, because the headphones remain excellent mixing headphones in and of themselves.
