Q: Does this work with a Lowery Workstand (when using their lamp adaptor bracket?)

Yes it does. I use it with mine.

Q: Can you pull the lamp from it's clamp base - so it could be placed in hole in a solid surface?

Yes, the lamp comes not attached to the clamp at all. I have the rod of mine through a hole in my Lowry stand.

Q: How long is arm please ?

Maximum reach 110cm (43 inches)

Q: Would this lamp be suitable attached to a headboard? I am disabled and spend a lot of time in bed and still want to be able to do my stitching.

In my opinion, it wouldn't be very suitable. Where the lamp meets the clamp, it just slots in. It isn't secured. This is to enable the lamp to be pivoted freely. If the clamp is on the headboard horizontally the lamp would just fall out or not stay in place. Ideally you'd want to affix this to a side table.
