I can't connect to my phone or another thing..why?

just what i needed
bought for a slide show during a wedding speech, and really worth it. pic was bright enough to show the vid on a grey wall, with candles lit everywhere. plugged a usb memory stick in and played straight from that. speaker is ok in a small room, but ran the aux cable to a big speaker for the day. going to keep using this for films at home, as it really is good enough
