The Concept Blows My Mind
If you think Hey, Google, Alexa, Siri, and the "re-calculating" warning from the old GPS units was irritating, wait until you meet the candidate for POTUS in this book.Yeah, maybe a computer that can use game theory to predict the other person's every move is good information, but is it better than getting that information from an advisor? Should a human decide if and when to push *the button,* or should a computer do it to save thirty seconds? If you, as POTUS, need to decide to end the existence of an enemy of the US, should the computer decide that 100 bodies are acceptable as collateral damage? The computer will not care if that is 100 elementary school kids or a nursing home full of hospice patients. However, the computer uses millions of data points to decide without emotion and predicts that 100 lives lost today will save a million over the next ten years. If those questions provoke you even a bit, read this book. If the 2024 choice is Trump and Biden again, maybe we should get an upgrade and nominate an AI. Imagine a State of the Union where some congressperson shouts rudely at President AI and, without missing a beat, President AI says, "Sir, there is a 92.74% chance that I ruined your chances of re-election with the two phone calls I just made. Do you want to say anything else? Oh, your car will not start until the dealer resets the security code, and your home alarm is glitchy tonight." (Maybe I should run for POTUS since I thought of those things.)Enjoy the read.

A good easy read
This was a really good book, however, very frightening!Look out America.I am hoping this is far-fetched but I’m afraid it is not.

A glimpse at the present
I was curious about the storyline, being the head wizard of the People's Progressive Virtual UnConvention Poll. Now we will see how EQ is a balanced approach for AI.

starts slow, but gets interesting
Almost stopped reading, because it started so slow, but it got better and got me hooked. Overall it’s a good read.

Surprisingly good!
Surprisingly good! I was intrigued by the premise of this book but I was also hesitant. Because do I want to read about politics in today's political climate? My answer is a resounding NO. However, an AI for a presidential candidate seems like a fascinating basis for interesting reading. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It is exciting, fast paced, thought provoking and quite scary, as well. A fun thriller with chilling effects that left me with much to ponder.

frightening
A frightening tale of what could happen when the Genie is let out of the bottle. Except we are left wondering about the love interests motives

Artificial Intelligence For President? Super Interesting Concept
An intriguing piece of near-future fiction about the 2032 presidential election (and a pretty credible dystopia that might be just around the corner for us). Even though this is ten years from now, the themes feel very contemporary. Could AI be our salvation or a threat? Should AI determine our destiny? Is big tech really our friend? Do we want them in charge? I also enjoyed the setting of a declining San Francisco. It’s kind of scary but feels accurate, having visited a bunch. It takes a little time to build up, but when the turn in the middle happens (no spoilers), it really picks up. That said, I was very interested in the deep dive into the AI’s creation and the big tech folks behind it early on. Overall, a pretty fast read and an interesting balance of tech and politics without being heavy handed.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed it
This book was recommended to me by a friend, and is not the genre I usually choose . Although it was a bit slow in the beginning, it soon became a true action book. I was riveted and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. The premise is engaging and timely and it’s a surprisingly good read. Without beating the reader over the head with it, there are some thoughtful issues about climate, the future, the Bay Area, artificial intelligence, and politics that continue to engage me even after I have finished the book.

A thought provoking novel
In a world where citizens of many countries are more divided from each other than ever: politically, socially, economically, philosophically, this novel presents a believable, albeit frightening, future. Democracies everywhere seem to be in trouble to a greater or lesser extent, with the US the obvious case in point. How much has this been the result of the information age and the manipulation of this information as suggested in this novel? The author's understanding of big tech and those who work within it was interesting, and I found the novel's premise - that AI could win the highest office based on data freely provided over the years by mostly unwitting consumers - thought provoking. Would a completely 'rational' decision maker make decisions for the greater good, and what does 'good' mean anyway? Will AI create more equality of opportunity for all, or only those who have the most societal 'value'? The vivid descriptions of the outcast underclass is already a tragic reality in many places, as we see technology displacing so many jobs while the tech giantsand their financiers become even more wealthy. Has greed and hubris won over compassion? Will AI become its own master, and what are the consequences for each of us as a result?I was a happy luddite, however this novel makes me question where we're going and where we will end up. And that makes it a good read I think!

Fast paced and thought provoking!
A great beginning for a first time author. It will make you think about all the information you've already given out, let alone how much info the tech giants will have accumulated in 10 year's time..... enough to make this story plausible? An immensely enjoyable read, with excellent film potential.

Interesting insights into US Politics and the IT Sector
I've just finished reading Keir Newton's new novel "2032" and was most impressed. It was a great read and very thought provoking, especially with his insights of the IT Sector and politics in the US as well as his familiarity with San Francisco. I enjoyed it very much and am now looking forward to reading his next novel,

Straight from tomorrow’s headlines
Looking at US politics from afar, the idea that a king of Silicon Valley would run an AI for president doesn’t seem too far fetched. This is a tight, intelligent, pacey political thriller with a smart sprinkle of SpecFic.You’ll be casting it in your head as you read … ripe for a streamer to pick up and run with it.
