Cool book! Kids learn to count and learn about a plane trip and what it entails
A wonderful counting book which walks a young child through the experience of a trip through the airport and to their destination! I especially like how it introduces escalators and elevators (on the same page), touches on security, toilets, gates and seatbelts. I like that it reports both "miles" & "kilometers" "feet" & "meters." AND a HAPPY MEETING at the destination! My very young grandkids have flown within the U.S. and also abroad, so it's a great introduction to travel! I wish this book were not in such short supply! I was glad to have found it!

OK but not Great
OK but didn't seem interesting enough, maybe because of muted colors?

No substance
There was nothing in this book to capture a child's attention. I would not recommend this book to anyone. The pictures were dull and there was no information truly provided. Many of the pictures could not be identified for the age group it appears to be geared toward.

Flight 1-2-3 by Maria van Lieshout is a great picture book to give to kids before going on a trip that involves an airplane. Each page covers some part of the trip plus a number. At the beginning it asks the question, "When taking a flight, what do you see?" The answers go from 1 to 10 for things like the airport, the escalators, check-in desks and airplane gates. It also goes to higher numbers that engage the imagination of young children, like "100 fastened seat belts" and "a million places to explore." It all ends with a happy reunion with friends or relatives once the family gets to its destinations.Van Lieshout's illustrations are sparse and colorful, reminiscent of signs you see in airports with symbols for food and drink, restrooms and trash cans. With its sturdy, easy-to-wipe-off cover, Flight 1-2-3 can be easily taken along on a trip and referred to often as families go through each stage of travel. The publisher provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Good book!
I read this to my little right after traveling. I love how clear a n the pictures were and how she used commonly seen signage in airports.

Airport
This concept book introduces young readers to the steps of taking a flight, from arriving at the airport to meeting family or friends at the other end. A useful resource for young children about to take a flight, children, ages 0-5, will find interest in this book.

Modern interpretation of travel for kids
Excellent resource to help a child understand air travel and taking a trip. The numbers focus is a nice bonus.

Okay, just not enough of details
We will fly in a few monthts' time with our toddlers, so bought a few books. This book is okay, but in my opinion does not explain enough, for example nothing about take off, flight itself and/or landing or baggage claim. Our kids are 2.5 yrs and 3 yrs 4 mths and they certainly want a bit more detail (what happens to the suitcases, where do they go at check-in etc).
