Don't trust a pool store
the pool store tests will not be as accurate. Phosphate along with other parameters typically do not agree with Taylor test data including phosphates. We have no source of phosphates except a small amount in city water that is almost too small to measure. After experiencing wide differences with other tests such as alkalinity and calcium hardness that rely up drop counting and a definite color change, the phosphate Taylor test confirmed that the pool store just wants to sell expensive phosphate removal. The test kit shows 125 ppm phosphate whereas the pool store is on the order of 1800 ppm. Beware is all that I can say. The cost of this test kit is better value than spending a ton of money to remove phosphates. Keep your chlorine at the right level (7.5% x CYA) and you won't have algae problems regardless. BTW, use Taylor CYA tests too.

Seems accurate to the pool store's readings
There's tons of trees around here so I'm always battling phosphates. I had bought the fancy Taylor kit with the speed stir so I thought I'd shell out a bit more for this too, just to have. Works fine.

Good test kit for phosphates
Test kit arrived with expiration dates out 2 years which is great. Test works properly letting you know why no matter how much algicyd or chlorine you have in your pool the algae still grows. It is because phosphates feed algae. I have my chlorine at 8 ppm and my PH at 7.2 normal on alkalinity, hardness but algae was still growing. I have back washed the filtration and rinsed filters. Test showed phosphates over 1500 ppm. With phosphate reducer added I got this done under 200 and magically the algae went away. I can now let the sun burn off the chlorine down to 3 ppm and should be good to swim.

Arrived damaged
One of the chemicals (acid) leaked inside the package. I am in the process of requesting a return but the company does not communicate in any kind of timely manner. When you purchase a brand new item, it should arrive as expected.I used a few drops to test my pool water and it seems to be decent. You can guestimate the approximate level of phosphates and thats all I need. For a scientific measurement, this is not the product for you.

Didn't receiver correct test
I'm not sure if I should try purchasing it online or in store. I received a calcium hardness test instead. Works just as good as my other calcium hardness test.

Got this in April and the test expires in October the same year purchased.
It works. I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 because of the expiration date. I can only use this test for one season. I've brought few other Taylor tests kits and I was able to get at least 3 seasons out of them.
