2 X 10’s I think would be the least. We used 2 X 12’s and they fit perfectly

Yes, that should work, but you will need to go 3 2x4s high.

Q: Why is there reference to 5 Delft Blue fiesta nobs? Isn't this supposed to be 4 black corner brackets? is the weight accurate?

I think that is an error in the description. There are no nobs. We love our brackets and made putting our beds together super easy.

Just do not use treated lumber!!!!
