Improper construction, unusable.
Improperly constructed. The filters from all brands I tried would not screw into the wheel properly. The threads would bind before the filter was fully seated. The filter bodies scraped along the inside of the wheel housing. You can mess up your expensive filters using this thing so it cannot be recommended.

Not as easy as it looks.
Well they say you get what you pay for and this didn't cost that much. But none of my eyepieces would screw into any of the positions. I was a machinist for 15 years and a manufacturing engineer for another 25 years. I know how easy it is to cross-thread a part into a shallow threaded hole. I was very careful, but to no avail. The threads in the filter wheel are not correct I needed the unit soon so instead of returning, I did a little jury-rigging by forcing the threaded eyepieces into place and filing about .080" off the end of the eyepieces so they would fit in the unit. I won't be able to unscrew them and use them for anything else, but at least I got the filter wheel working. If I were to do it all over again, I would have spent the money and bought a better unit.My astronomy experience: Over thirty years. Equipment: 6" Criterion Newtonian, 90mm Orion Refractor, 10" f/3.9 Orion Astrograph.

Great value for a simple setup
I bought this for use with my video astronomy setup to try multispectral video astronomy with my telescope and Starlight Live (for Starlight Xpress cameras). I use the Orion extra narrowband filters (H-alpha, O-III and S-II). They thread nicely onto the wheel. The entire mechanism with the exception of the 1.25" adapter is metal. The adapter is plastic with metal threads. The wheel has a nice solid feel to it and it clicks nicely and is quite stiff. It's easy to take apart to insert filters. The small silver knurled knob in the middle is unscrewed and the whole filter wheel plate comes out. If all you need is a simple setup, this is hard to beat for the money.
