Great Quality and Functionality
I absolutely love the Rothco GI Style Canvas Butt Pack! The olive drab color looks great, and the canvas material feels really durable. It’s the perfect size for carrying essentials without being bulky. The pack is comfortable to wear, and I appreciate the classic military style. Whether you’re hiking, camping, or just need something practical for everyday use, this bag does the job. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish option!

Very close copy of what I used in the Army.
This is a very good copy of the original GI butt pack and it should hold up well.

Good for the price
Bought it , attached it to my alice belt to store my stanely adventure cooking set nestled with cup, stove , and msr butane bottle . use it for my lunch ,since im a heavy equipment operator for the county that im in, i go to rual areas in the middle of no where . so for my lunch , i heat up my soup or my just add water meal bags (which i store in the pack to) along with my utensils. also i secured my usgi poncho to the bottom for those rainy days . definitly need a dry bag as the liner sucks , and i also snipped off the tin buckles and bought 1" non-sew quick clips so its quicker(here on amazon) to open it rather than to fiddle around with the lashing also i duct taped the ends so it wont move around . so far it been holding up no problems. been in all sorts of weather, on the floor of cabs , and thrown around . no damages yet . dam good for my needs . will definitely buy again when the time arises where i need one again .

Good for the money.....
Canvas, old school type butt pack. If you know how to treat it with wax, will stand up fair to real use. I just keep a poncho and a mess kit in it with a small tops knife clipped to the side. If your gonna be wet a lot maybe get the nylon but if you like canvas or need that look for re-enacting this one is fine in my opinion. Simple, tough enough for my use which is training/camping/hiking in the woods.

Little in the middle but it fits my back
Seems like fairly sturdy material. The metal clasps are flimsy. I'll be reinforcing some stitching because I know rothco. Looks like it can also be used as a back pack with the mounting points on an h harness with an additional buttpack. Not exactly usgi but not a bad way to carry a sleep kit or first aid

Packing up the butt pack
Heavy duty construction. Absolutely satisfied with it. Perfect for a minimum gear overnighter.

Exactly What I Needed for Day Hiking - Completes My LBE Ensemble
I just got my bag today. so I have not had a chance to use it yet. But it looks like it will hold a lot of stuff. Which brings me to the issue of the dimensions listed. The Product Description says "14.8 x 9.8 x 2.3 inches." But that is when the bag is empty and flat. A card that came with the bag says that it is 9" x 8.5" x 6" The bag I received would be about 9" x 9.5" x 6" if full.In addition to the straps on the front that hold the cover down, there are two straps attached to the back and go under the bottom that fit into buckles on the front bottom. They can be used to provide additional support to the bottom if you are carrying a heavy load in the bag. Or they can be used to secure items such as a rolled up poncho. (The front straps are long enough to secure a poncho to the front of the bag.)There are two tabs on the back that allow LBE suspenders to be attached directly to the bag to support it while ALICE clips attach it to a pistol belt. There is also a cloth handle on the top of the cover. There is a cloth liner inside the bag covering the sides of the bag, but not the bottom. The liner can be pulled up and out. I'm not sure how it is intended to be used.Yes, the material is a little lighter than the old canvas I was accustomed to using years ago, but it should be sufficient for the hiking I do today. It will be a great addition to my LBE ensemble. With this, I should be able to carry everything I need for an extended day hike of several hours.
