Absolutely fabulous
OMG at all the tears! I have loved Julian since book 1. He is over the top, a huge flirt, and hilarious with his nicknames for everyone. But he is the first to be in your corner, to have your back. He is all things awesomesauce!! But his past is heartbreaking and will have you crying big, fat, ugly crocodile tears. Mattie is struggling. He knows he is gay, but actually "being" gay has not happened for him yet. He wants to be open, but he isn't quite ready to step out. Then he meets Julian. That is his catalyst. He cannot deny his attraction to him, even if he lies to himself. They are gold together. The chemistry is spark inducing. The sexy is off the charts. Their relationship is what everyone dreams of. I loved getting to go back and live their beginning. I am just blown away.

It was a journey of self acceptance, finding the courage to stand up to those who judge you, and falling in love.
Lila has managed to amaze me!The Hawks are my favorite MC!This story was heartbreaking at times, but still held all the humor we love!We were introduced to Matt and Julian in the first book in this series, and I've loved them from the start. I've always wished for Lila to tell their story, and she didn't disappoint!Matt is a guy who is living a lie. He is attracted to men and petrified to come out because of witnessing another gay man being beaten. Deep down he knows his family will be accepting, but he fears what his teammates and friends will think. I also think the fact that he was having such a hard time with accepting this himself was holding him back.Julian. Oh my Julian. I love him and his humor. He's been a constant favorite of mine. In this book I got to witness a much more complex and sadder side of him. It was heartbreaking to see the kind of life he was living. He was openly gay, but such a prisoner. And to the people who should have loved him the most! He suffered through things that no child should have, and yet he was so strong. When Matt and Julian meet the attraction is instant. And, after some push and pull and more painful events they both end up helping each other, and falling in love. This was more than a book. It's truth for so many people out there. It's hope for the men and women who hide who they are behind fear.It was a journey of self acceptance, finding the courage to stand up to those who judge you, and falling in love.Congratulations Lila on an amazing book!Brazen Babe Book Reviews

Adorable
*squeels* I love this book. Both Mattie and Julian are full characters with personalities, flaws, character development, developing relationships with main and side characters and have developed histories. It is easy to get attached. The plot and conflict are entertaining and the entire book covers large social issues of acceptance, bullying, child abuse (physical and sexual), LGBTQ+ and bigoted people and an honest coming-out scenario.. and more.Of course, I accidentally read one of the later books first, (rather than in order) which featured a bunch of characters I was clueless about. But from the first introduction of these two characters in Out to Freedom, I feel in love with them! Then I found out there are a bunch of books featuring the characters I was clueless on, and a whole book dedicated to Mattie and Julian.. well here I am now.My advice to you is to read some of the other books before this one. The most important being Zara and Talons story.. Which is book 1. The other books after that donโt impact this book.

Julian & Mattie
3.5 STARS!!!This was a good M/M romance read that was funny, steamy, sweet yet heartbreaking, and full of characters you will love and love to hate. This wasn't a light read because there was abuse in this story; mental and physical. Matthew "Mattie" is young and has spent years hiding his true self. Julian loves who he is and isn't afraid to show it, not matter the cost and it comes at a high cost from his parents who are both worthless in my eyes. I hated his parents with everything in me. I was happy that he had someone like his neighbor Melissa in his life. Mattie's parents Richard and Nancy were the complete opposite. They loved, accepted and supported him. They were not only funny but they were the best. I love how accepting they were with Julian because the chemistry between Julian and Mattie was undeniable, unstoppable and inevitable. The ending was sweet but when it came to certain things it did feel a bit rushed. I would have liked to just enjoy the huge moment at the end instead of throwing that other topic in there so quickly. It was sweet but too much at once. There were other things that bothered me a little in this story but over all it was a good read. A one time read for me but a good one none the less.

Mattie & Julian
I love Mattie and Julianโs story and Iโm so happy that we were able to get their whole story from their beginning to now. Considering how sweet and bubbly Julian is, I hate that he comes from such ugliness. I love that they have each other and are able to bring so much happiness to so many people around them.

It was okay.
Coming out is part of a series, but I was able to read this fine as a standalone. I liked this story. It was an interesting take for Mattie on how hard it can be to come out in an environment like he was in. I liked that he was able to redeem himself over the actions that he did at the start of the book, but I'm not sure I completely felt the insta-love between him and Julian. I'm also not sure why there had to be such an age difference between the two (seventeen years I think it was) when Julian was sometimes so immature sounding. I cringed every time he "giggled". I think it might have worked better if he was in his later twenties, perhaps. Either way, I still enjoyed this story and recommend if you are after a short, hot m/m read.

Wow
This book is definitely worth 5*****. learning how julian and mattie met & what julian went through was just amazing,, I wanted to reach into the books in part especially when julian parents were involved and strangle them with my bare hands, this amazing man has been through so much and even though we know him as the happy to lucky one it helps you to understand him so much more, I love these two as a couple and fell in love more with them after reading there story. This is the first ever m/m book I've ever read and it was so powerfully written that I couldn't put it down.Thank you Lila Rose for yet another amazing book xx

Quick read!!
This is Julian and Mattie 's story. From the moment these two meet the chemistry is off the charts. Their journey is an emotional roller coaster throughout. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Coming Out....
....Bloody nora, emotional or what!I have wanted to know Mattie & Julian's story from the very start. They've been major characters in most of the books and you just know there's drama!Well, drama we get! For Julian to be such an extrovert over the top outlandish funny gay guy, what he went through was truly awful!Mattie was just always a sweetheart, a straight up (well - gay up) nice guy. He comes out to his mum and dad but no one else until the end and I loved the way he did!Excellent story and I thoroughly loved and enjoyed it

Too short. I wanted more
As with all Lila's books I read it really quick. Too quick really I wanted to last.Julian has always been my favourite character from this series even though he isn't a member of the MC Club.I laughed so much at Julian's antics in this book, but Mattie's mum and dad come a very close second favourite. This book isn't just laughs there are some very serious and sad parts.I was going to ask Lila two questions when I finished this book, but one was answered for me at the end if the story, and the second was answered on the very last page.

Got to say this is the first same sex relationship book I have read.....and it was just beautiful. You could really feel Mattys struggle with his sexuality and throughout the whole book i felt myself really rooting for him and Julian. As for Julian ive read about him in Lilas other books and I completely adore him. Him and Mattys relationship is special and beautiful and this book was a true work of art.
