Swagman G10 Hitch Mount Bike Rack

I bought this bike rack with intention of keeping my bike safe from thieves. While the rack is safe because of the hitch lock, it is very easy for someone to just losen the bottom cups that the wheels sit in and adjust them. This allows the front or rear wheel to drop and gives enough clearance for the frame to clear the "locking mechanism". For the amount of money that I spent on this bike rack I assumed it would be a little bit more theft proof. On top of the security problem, I've only had this product for 3 months and its already starting to rust from the rain. I mean if you design a product that will spend most of its time on the back of your car why not spend some time making sure it is protected from corrosion. Overall I wish I would have gone with another brand.

So difficult to find specific info online, but I decided to take a chance that the tailgate in my 2019 Honda Ridgeline would be able to open with this rack installed and bikes loaded. SUCCESS! ...with several inches to spare.The rack itself was easy to install after watching the video on Swagman’s website (Paper instructions are not helpful).I really like the tilt option, locking mechanisms and the sturdiness. And yes, each included key works on BOTH the locking pin and the downward pressure locks.I’m glad I took a chance on this rack. Very pleased!***UPDATE: Just completed out 2,800 mile cross country journey. This unit sustained 60mph wind gusts across 2 solid days in North Dakota / Montana driving. We were able to tilt the rack (with both bikes loaded) and enter the tailgate area multiple times daily. Other hotel guests would drive by and ask where we got it!We arrived in one piece and the rack is ready for more. Extremely impressed. Highly recommended!!!

I love the features on this rack like how it has the lock system and is simple to use and convenient getting bikes on and off. My only con about it is even with a stabilizing hitch thing I put on, this thing still sways left to right a little bit. Wish it was more stable and didn't bounce around as much, but it's still sturdy and don't feel it will break. Price wise this is great and bikes don't come close to touching. I put this on my Mazda 3. With 2 bikes while driving on freeway, I can feel the sway pulling me in my car and feel like it for sure will make my gas mileage go down, but that's not an issue. With one bike it's hardly noticeable. I'd give it 5 stars if it didn't sway as much.

Great Bike Carrier. Hitch mounting is the way to go for bike transport! I really like how it all folds up for compact transport when a bike is not on the carrier.Only six bolts to install. I recommend threading the tube into the hitch and assembling from there. Threaded bolt securely holds platform to the hitch to minimize wobble.Security features on this model are wonderful, although they can all be defeated, so don't let it make you feel too comfortable. Wish there was a hole for a bolt on the end of each tube so it made it difficult for a thief to remove the wheel chucks, it would be a simple low cost solution.Wish it wasn't so heavy.

I got this rock based on the reviews and used it for a 12 hour road trip out of state and it worked extremely well. I also used it in state to drive a few hours to ride my bike and again it was better than expected. I like the feature that allows you to lock the bike to the rack by 2 different methods. The initial rack that holds a bike down has a locking mechanism with supplied key. There is also a cable that attaches to the hitch mount for additional security. It was very easy to put together and only took about 20 minutes or so. The materials are heavy gauge and very sturdy.

Seems like a nice bike rack. We had been using the type that straps on the back of your SUV. But with that it didn't seem safe to actually put two bikes on the back. We were shoving one bike in the back of our SUV and then one on the rack.We finally put a hitch on and went with the hitch mounted rack. No regrets! I will say this is quite heavy. I don't know if that's just the nature of the beast or not. Also, The instructions for putting the track together could have been better. There are no illustrations or what the parts are called. The instructions are rather vague. We watched a YouTube video on how to put it on the car and how to put the bikes on... Otherwise the instructions would have made even less sense.We have a 20 min drive to get to the bike trail we like. The bikes had some wobble but it seems sturdy! The price was reasonable. The track locks to your vehicle. Then the bikes lock to the hitch in two ways if you want to use those features. Very nice!

I researched a while before landing on this one. Reason for buying this over many others is because I've a fat tire bike, and it weights about 45lbs. Most bike racks are designed to hold up to 35lbs each bike, which is fine for most mountain bikes, but not fat tire bikes. So, I went with this, which can hold up to 45lbs per bike.If you have a fat tire bike like me, you DO need to get a separate pair of fat tire bike trays to swap out the originals. Otherwise, the originals that come with it would be too small for the fat tires.I've driven on the freeway several times, up to 80 miles per hour. The rack seems just fine. It does have some movements when it goes through bumps or when it's really windy, and although psychologically it doesn't sit well with me, I do know that's normal - it's impossible to be completely still when it's getting so much impact.Overall, very sturdy rack that folds up. If you're looking to get one for fat tire bikes, or want the option of a rack that can do that in the future, this is a good one.

Did not take too long to assemble and had good instructions. It holds the bikes securely and absolutely no rattles when driving. Easy load/unload procedure. Like the tilt away feature with bikes on to access hatch of car. Folds up nicely when not in use and still allows our hatch to open when folded up which is ideal. Like the locking feature which makes me feel good about leaving them in a parking lot briefly. Comes with a secure cable if leaving them for longer. Good product.

So easy to use. Secure, well made, a snap to assemble.Trays are metal, straps are easy to use and make them secure, no extra bungie cords needed at all. Posts lock and cable locks to the hitch pin and the hitch pin locks tight to prevent any wiggling while in transit.I get a lot of comments on this rack. Maybe they're more common to see in Canada's west coast, where they are made, but here in Southern Ontario, people aren't familiar with them, and it catches peoples eyes when I'm unloading the bike at the trail head.

I did quite a bit of reviewing around before purchasing this bike rack. Out of the options out there I believe this is the best bet for quality of the frame, ease of use and overall cost of the unit. This is probably the best rack out there if you don't want to shell out for a top of the line Thule carrier.

I bought this after much review & even considered making my own. Thought I'd save a few bucks. Turns out to be best purchase I made in a long time & money well spent. Easy to handle and a very solid ride. The flip back feature with loaded bikes is awesome for access to hatchback or tailgate as I use it on both vehicles. Still new so not a lot of miles, but exceeds expectations so far.

Use it on my trailer. One of the bikes is a very heavy electric bike and it work extremely well. High quality. Fast delivery.
