Kids like it!
I teach braille and I am usually not fond of uncontracted braille. This book is helpful for sighted folks who are learning. Beginners do not start with contractions and as a pre-K to first grade book the lack of contractions is perfectly appropriate. Usually books like this have low relief braille because the process of embossing is different than that produced exclusively for braille readers. I got it as a sort of introduction to braille to share with a first grader who was recently assessed as a sighted child who needs braille. However, before I could get the book to school, my 3-year-old great nephew came to visit. He seems to have some sensory neuro differences like a high end functioning on the autism spectrum. He loves counting and he loves this book. He counts and feels the textures on each page. There was something about the "nine sticky worms" that tickled and intrigued him. We usually get stuck --no pun intended-- on that page. This is my second order of this book because I want him to have his own copy.

My daughters favorite birthday gift
This book is such an amazing gift for the blind and visually impaired. When I ordered I just assumed it would be a simple book with pictures and handmade Braille, but we got so much more. My daughter is in love with this book. She asks to read it every night and now her father who is blind can read it to her and actually feel the images in the book. The worms are actually sticky! Sounds weird, but it’s a nice touch. It’s colorful bright and interactive! It was definitely a great purchase for my daughters second birthday.

Great for early math acquisition
I bought this book for my Math Area in my classroom. I work with 2 year olds and they enjoyed looking through the book and feeling the braille. I like it because it is a fun way to incorporate math and inclusion into the classroom for young children.

A good, simple braille counting book
The book will work for my purpose, allowing a blind parent to help his child learn about counting. I wish it had not arrived dented, but it is a nice, thick board book, with bright colors.

Absolutely wonderful!!
My son is visually impaired and has been wearing glasses since he was three months old. It is absolutely wonderful to find a book that introduces Braille at such a young age and uses tactile to help with the story's subjects. I do wish that the Braille stood out more. (I read Braille and this is tough to read, as the dots don't stand out quite as much.).Regardless, I hope to see more books like this!!
