Not really spec. grade
I’ve installed a bunch of these Leviton in-wall, lit-handle switches, and find them to be not really up to their advertised spec. grade (specification grade, aka contractor grade, aka commercial grade). On almost all of them, the illumination in the toggle switch lever, which illumination is supposed to be on when the switch is in the off position (so you can find the switch in the dark), is quite dim, much dimmer than traditional illuminated light switches. And then about a third of these switches fail or falter in some essential way within a few years of even very light residential use.The most frequent failure is again with the illuminated toggle lever, where the illumination becomes flaky, intermittent; instead of being just too dim, it is often entirely MIA, off, dark. This particular fault appears to be not with the small light in the toggle lever itself, but with whatever mechanism in the switch is supposed to deliver power to the toggle lever light when the lever is in the off position; this is discernible from the fact that nudging the switch lever to the left or right often causes the illumination temporarily to work or not work.Plus a variety of other occasional flake-outs and failures. However, at least so far, Leviton service/support on these switches has been pretty good, they’ve kindly replaced those of mine that have failed or gone flaky. Only because of that pretty good service, I’ll rate these switches 4 stars, otherwise I’d give ‘em only 3. Again, they really don’t measure up as spec. grade.

Allows electricity to leak through
I installed several of these because I really liked them. However, when I used this switch for a light fixture with two 7 watt LED bulbs, the lights remained dimly illuminated when the toggle switch was off. Disconnecting one of the wires from the switch was the only way to shut off the lights completely. I tried another brand with the same result. Apparently this is a common issue with illuminated light switches. I was not happy with the issue and replaced all the switches back to regular ones. I did not notice any bleed through with 60W LED bulbs. I assume it was occurring but not enough to emit visible light while in the off position.

JUNK Don't Buy
I Purchased this item 2 years ago and already it doesn't work. I think a light switch especially this one that costs so much more money than an ordinary light switch should last more than 2 years. This was supposed to be an upgrade to the original switch which came with the house which by the way is the one I am using now "again". ALL of my light switches came with the house 30 years ago and all still function correctly. The one I purchased was obviously defective. Right off the bat you needed a very strong finger to push it up and down where as you could use your pinky finger on every other light switch in the house. Now the toggle won't go up or down AT ALL.I paid $9.00 for this and I would like a refund for this product since it is junk and worthless. Amazon.com told me they couldn't help me since it was out of there 30 refund policy. VERY POOR RESPONSE for a Company as large as Amazon! $9.00 for me is a lot of $$$ for them it's less than pocket change.

Switch
These are getting hard to find in my local area so I ordered online. This is the sturdiest of the switches that I have installed so far. I will replace my other switches with this one as they wear out.

Sucks..
Sucks...I bought 6 and all had different levels of dim neon lamps inside..some never light correctly and replacements were just as bad. 5-years ago quality control was much better because every switch fully glowed and was really bright.
