easy to adjust
I bought 2 of these in different sizes for my bowrider boat covers. They are sturdy and very easy to adjust the height. They have 2 different tips to accommodate different types of cover holes (you just turn the piece around, so you don't have to keep track of separate tips--they are both on the same piece).

Other uses
Used as an adjustable support leg for a rail-mounted solar panel on a sailboat. Good quality and will not rust. Attached to bottom of panel frame with an "L" bracket. Allows tool-free adjustment of tilt angle to maximize output.

The locking mechanism is good. Easy to adjust pole to the right height.

Worked good enough for around 4 months
Worked good for a few boat trips (about 4 months worth) then it snapped in half while we were driving down the road.
