This book adapts the classic song wonderfully in a modern way that still feels faithful to the original. The beautiful illustrations reflect diversity and inclusion of many types throughout the story.This is a great book to have in a classroom or home library in the winter months to reflect the variety of families that exist. There is also a lovely adaptation of this particular version by Emily Arrow back into a children's song.

Loved this book. It was a little wordy for my PreKinders but they enjoyed talking about the pictures and paired it with the song and a video on YouTube. Very inclusive of all types of families.

LOVE this sweet take on the traditional song. My child was hook from the inside cover where there are pictures of different types of families. He pointed to one that resembled our family and was blown away that they were in the book. Great story with beautiful illustrations.

I read this aloud to my 22 m.o. nephew over the holiday, and he was utterly captivated by the illustrations and by the refrain (a horse's "Nnnneeeiiiggghh," which is one of his favorite animal sounds / words to say). I was just happy to have a picture book that showed a modern, diverse family like ours coming together during a frantic holiday season. I think this book will become a holiday tradition for us.

This is a cute story told in the style and cadence of the well-known song, "Over the River and Through the Wood." In it, several siblings and their very diverse families travel home for the holidays. Mixed race relationships, same sex relationships, and adopted children are included.

This is such a fun book to read aloud to my kids! The illustrations are great and I absolutely love that the various families depicted in the book represent all kinds of families!

What a fun book! It takes the classic song of the late Victorian Era and updates the ride a bit. The fun increases if you watch the You Tube video that follows along with the book.

Great modern Christmas book inspired by an older song. Shows The difference in families and how they all come together. Loved it!

I have given this as Christmas gifts -- what a great rhyming book that goes with the classic Christmas tune. I love the diversity of representation in the inclusive family and the fun illustrations. The rhymes are very well written and make it a joy to read.
