For explanations about why some foods are limited and what responses those foods produce in your body, this is your book
I will probably NOT be able to complete 90-day program from the start; I will have to take her option to slowly remove things from my diet. But her approach is balanced. She says to take ONE anti-fungal and lists several. I now take caprylic acid supplements and occasionally drink Pau d'Arco tea. In other words, she's not advancing a period of excess to see a quick response, but change over time and a plan for maintenance. A lot of what she recommends here is good nutrition. . . eat some types of grains but forego the ones that turn to sugar and are highly processed. But she explains why these recommendations apply to the growth of candida. What helped me the most were two things: her explanation of food combining is one of those. Having lost my gall bladder and now having to eat moderate to low fat foods, there was a risk for me of too many refined or starchy carbohydrates. She does not recommend removing carbohydrates completely, and sure, we all know that refined carbohydrates affect insulin levels; she explains why the good carbs are good. But I was about to pay $40 for a food-combining program, and now don't have to because she summed it up in one paragraph. She also says that your body asks for what it needs, and I am a firm believer in that. It also craves refined carbohydrates and sugars when your blood sugar surges low or high. I've learned to recognize a good craving from a bad one. She doesn't just say "eat this, don't eat that," but explains the mechanisms. I personally love legumes and beans, and never understood why the Atkins diet, which was successful for me when I had a gall bladder, limited beans, but she explains that even while legumes are high in protein, the carbohydrates in them are starches, and have the effect of refined carbohydrates. So now they are treats, once or twice a week. She also explains when and how often to eat fruit. So she just doesn't say what to leave out and what to leave in, but why, and her structure helps create moderation, so you don't feel deprived but you're not limited to just a handful of food groups. I now know I can eat brown rice, when in the past I thought that was off limits. The second thing that is helpful are the recipes. I tried one last night - spicy chicken and cabbage soup. It is a little bit more expensive for me when shopping to buy the things I need to make these recipes, but part of that was a re-stock of my cabinets; I eat at work and often plunk down $7 for a sandwich and chips and a cookie and a diet soda . . . most of which is feeding the candida. If I stop shelling out for fast food and spend my money on good food and prepare to take food with me to work, I'm sure the net effect on my budget will be the same. If you LIKE explanations for the consequences to your body of what you put into it, and WHY nutritionists recommend some foods and suggest eliminating or limiting others, this is your book.

I am 30 years old and me and my young family have benefited GREATLY!!
My husband and I purchased this book in February and have been implementing the diet into our lives for the past month and half before beginning the supplements. We have seen incredible results with just the diet, I am excited to see what happens with the supplements. In 2014 I developed a raw egg allergy, had the worst yeast infection (lasting 2 weeks), days after the yeast infection I developed a severe rash under my arms that was very painful and itched. I also had my period twice in that same month after the infection and rash and what I think was the beginning of endometrosis (severe pelvic pain during my menstrual cycle).Since beginning the diet, my rash is faintly there, my period was normal in February and no pelvic pain for the first time in 2 years (since giving birth to my first child), no yeast infections energy to boot. My husband has see the Keratosis Pilaris (bumps on the back of the arms, cheeks, or thighs) go away, dropped 15 pounds, and his eczema improve. We just purchased all of the supplements for the 90 day program, it costs us $300 for the both of us. I did my research and found most of them were cheapest here on amazon. Our grocery budget has gone up weekly by about $50 and I do spend more time in the kitchen. We have also put our 2 yr old daughter on the diet and she is for the first time having two bowel movements a day! I will give an update once we begin the diet and the results.A good beverage on the diet:3 lemons juiced1 1/2 cup pure cranberry juice20 drops of steviaAdd to a gallon pitcher and fill rest with water. Yum! And it detoxes your liver. :)7/28/2015 Update:The diet/supplement plan has eradicated our candida. All of our above symptoms are gone! Also, my daughter who has struggled with chronic ear infections hasnt had one since before the diet. Also, her immune system is amazing now! We have continued the diet, although we have cheated a bit; sugar seems to bother my husbands exczema and it flares up. When it flares up he has to go on the strict diet again, probiotics and candida pills if its really bad. All protocols are in her book if your symptoms flare up. I had the beginnings of a rash in my armpit after drinking 2 glasses of wine, so I have to be mindful of that. We ususally stick with potato vodka, stevia and lime juice.Overall, we have grown and been challenged in ways like never before. We are never going back to our old habits of eating and are more aware of what our trigger foods are and how to handle flare-ups. Our ongoing supplement protocol: custom probiotics, nano greens, candida pills (when needed/stressed), adrenal health (stress), omega 3's, multi vitamin. This was life-changing for us. Please listen to your body, the littlest symptoms is your body trying to tell you something that could become life-threatening.

Nothing Special & Some Potentially Damaging Suggestions For Those With GI Issues, Migraine, Anxiety
While I appreciate the author's attempts to bring awareness to the candida issue, this book is not particularly good or necessary. Most if not all of the info is available for the cost of spending some research time online. The few included recipes are nothing special, again some time online for meal ideas and planning is all that is needed. The most problematic part of the book deals with supplementation and the issue of pharmaceutical anti-fungals. Of course the usual disclaimers are included for legal reasons, but not many people are in the position to be working with any type os specialist or GP. This is really geared towards an American system, or if you are rolling in money. Taking Diflucan can possibly cause liver issues for some, and the recommendations for vitamin C were especially troublesome. If you have any type of GI issues, it's not simply "plain ascorbic acid crystals" that will irritate a stomach lining. Any unbuffered variety can cause distress. Vitamin C powder can also cause esophageal irritation and pain. Stick to Ester-C (buffered) if you are going to go this route. Any unbuffered powder or capsule is going to potentially cause grief. Recommending one that also include quercetin and bromelaine is a recipe for some serious stomach distress. Elsewhere recommendations made for anti-fungal, gallbladder, liver, and digestive enzyme formulas, as well as red clover tea that could also cause GI distress if not horrible pain. Some adrenal formulas can contribute to anxiety/panic attacks, and whilst L-glutamine can be used for leaky gut, it can also be a major trigger for migraine. The supplementation recommendations and provided schedule here should not be used without being thoroughly investigated as the potential side effects and damage are too great. Besides the author (or estate) advertises her own line of supplements, which is always problematic. Again, this is written for an American market and culture. Do your research, start with dietary changes, and leave the heavy supplementation and anti-fungals for later on, and if you must, please find a functional medicine practitioner. Eat clean and avoid sugars and you are well on your way.

all food easily accessible, Of the many books on candida diets
PPMS diagnosed 1995, wheelchair soon after. I have been on this candida protocol for 3 years 6 months and have NO symptoms of MS at all now and am learning to walk again. iHerb has similar supplements, all food easily accessible, Of the many books on candida diets, this is the strictest and works, not in 90 days though when it has got as far as landing you with MS, more like 4 years. Hugely grateful. This book has changed my life.

Life changing book for me - a must have for candida overgrowth sufferers!!
Outstanding book. Has all of the essential information required to cure this disease. Unfortunately many practitioners disregard Candida overgrowth therefore this book certainly puts you at ease and reminds you that your symptoms are valid. Life changing book for me.

Does what it says on the tin
Itβs good but it can be confusing the way itβs arranged the order of information. Could be organised a bit better like recipes for first 30 days, supplements and herbs. You get all the information just read the whole thing so that your clear on what to do. On the plus side, lots of info, supplements and recommendations

A "must read" for anyone who believes their problems may be caused by candida
A great book that goes into much detail about the problems caused by candida, followed by a step by step guide on how to rid yourself of this horrible condition. Candida is generally ignored by doctors but for me candida was the root cause of many seemingly unrelated conditions which were all missed by my GP. Only my local chemist hinted at a possible problem and the contents of this book confirmed it.
