Nicely packed
I'm a beginner with zero experience. So I can't review the sound quality because I have not able to make it sound. So I'll go over some physical aspects that I see in this flute. This flute has a polishing appearance compared to the C key one I first ordered. It's nicely packed as described. I expect the glue given in the protector case can be used many many times. However, the plastic membrane protector comes with random colors. For the C key, it comes with pink, which is a color that I dislike to own. This F one comes with a green. So you may want to leave a note to the seller when you buy it if you want or not want a specific color. The white decorated cloth protector somehow is torn at the top. This happens for both flutes I ordered. The cooper joint is really easy to separate or attach. The velvet box comes with the item is great for storage. I have not particularly used it to travel with the flute. But I think it's good to have one. You can pack all in just one box when you don't use it for a long time. With all of these, I think the flute is affordable and great for beginners.

It works!
The Dizi came beautifully packed with all the items listed as described and even comes with a soft slim-fit red velvet bag for the dizi (this item was not shown on the picture).I am only a beginner but I was able to blow it without any issues.Fantastic before and after sales follow up service. Buy with confidence.

Great for kids and first timers (with small hands)
It is a great little instrument, emphasis on little. It came just as described and for being a spur of the moment purchase I wasn't disappointed. However it should be noted that Dizi are ever so slightly different in size based on what key they are, and as someone with large hands I should have got a c or d key instead. I would say for a starter it is great, easy to assemble and following tutorials easy to play.

Excellent flute and set for the price and for me, a beginner.
While never having played a Dizi or a transverse flute, I was able to place the Dimo (membrane) somewhat correctly and with the help of YouTube and H.H. Lee's book "How to Play the Dizi, the Chinese Flute" I was able to get some sounds! The more I've been playing and working on my embouchure and breath (you don't have to blow hard! Something I've learned with the Shakuhachi), the more the notes sound possibly like they should. While I'm still going to give a 5 star, it looks like there was a crack at the blowing hole that was repaired and then lacquered over. You can see the line but I don't feel a vibration or loss of tone. (Hard to say though as a beginner, lol) I have not played with a tuner to see if it's in tune, but will update when I do. Any way, I'm thinking of ordering the G key. Very pleased, now I have to play more. :)

Beautiful flute!
This flute is beautifully crafted and comes in a lovely case, which is excellent for keeping it safe. I was familiar with the dizi flute style and dimo membrane, so it wasn't a large learning curve for me. I've played western flute for years, and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the "for beginners" section was because, if you are trained on western flute, it could be a bit of a challenge to get the fingering and air flow the way you need them to be. But what I love most about this flute is that it is tunable!!! If you're considering learning dizi flute or you just want one that will travel well, I would definitely recommend this one. Can't beat the quality, especially for the price.

Excellent Dizi. Research of which Key to buy.
First of all, excellent instrument.Second, here is why I ended up buying 3 of them.I first bought a C dizi, which is definitely my favorite one to play now, but at first it wasn't. Each dizi is a different size depending on the key, this includes the length of the instrument, the size of the holes and how far apart the holes are. Due to the size difference, each one sounds different too, thus the Key they are assigned (the higher the letter the higher the sound ie C has lower sounds than G). My favorite sounding one is the C, but at first the holes where too far apart for my hands and the holes a bit to big for my fingers, specially on the right hand. I was frustrated because I couldn't close the holes well enough to produce clear sounds.I really wanted to play a dizi, so I did more research on whole sizes and didn't find a clear answer. I then decided to try out a D dizi and a G dizi so see which one would be a better fit, so I bought them both. I definitely like the D and G. If your fingers are on the slimmer side, G is good to play, but because the key is so high, its more difficult to produce clear sounds (and that's coming from someone who has no problem playing a western flute). The D dizi is a really good choice if you aren't 100% sure on sound and size. It's not that hard to produce clear sounds on the D, and the wholes aren't too far apart. If you can only invest in one, I would say D is the best start. Now, if your fingers are on the slimmer side and you still want to play a C dizi, or your dizi still feels big for your hands, you can adjust your playing style and use the second joint of your fingers instead of the tip to cover the holes. This works very well for me and I actually play all my dizi this way now, regardless of size. If you aren't sure on what I mean, look up some videos on professionals playing the Dizi and you'll see that many of them don't use the tip of their fingers to cover the hole, specially the holes of the right hand. I still use the tip of my fingers to cover the holes on the left. Also, don't be deceived by your own fingers just because you are on the bigger side. I'm 5'10", 180 Lbs and the tip of my fingers are still smaller than I thought. But again, you can always adjust playing style. In summary, this is a great choice for a dizi, specially if you're just starting. Think well about what size would be a good fit for your hands and which sounds you prefer, and I think you'll be very happy with your Dizi.PS: Do some research on the membrane too.

Harder than it look
My son has been asking me for an instrument. We watched some videos and this looked interesting and easy to play. I was very wrong. This has got to be the hardest instrument I have ever tried, from blowing into it to pressing correctly. The build is solid and it's easy to put together. If your child wants to get a flute, try this first to see if he/she would even like an actual flute.

Unexpected Pleasure
Nice voice! I forgot to bring my bamboo flute here, so I tried to get a simple one for a temporary use. I’ve never imaged a bamboo flute at this price can work that well. Though there are also some flaws on workmanship, it's absolutely worth having. High performance to price ratio.
