The Wombats follow up 2011’s This Modern Glitch with their third full-length, Glitterbug. The first song off of the album, “Greek Tragedy,” hit #2 on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart less than two weeks after release. The band’s 2011 album, This Modern Glitch, hit Top 5 on the UK charts and spawned US hits “Jump Into the Fog,” “1996,” and “Techno Fan.” Matthew Murphy, Dan Haggis, and Tord Øverland Knudsen are the threesome behind The Wombats.

Head and shoulders the best album of 2015
I'd never heard of The Wombats before this album - in fact the was one of our favourite streaming music services that popped them up. Having purchased the physical CD I can honesty say this is one of the very few albums I own (less than 5) that I can listen to from start to finish without feeling like I don't like any track 100%. I suspect over time people will discover this album for the greatness that it truly is, but in the mean time I will just enjoy it in comfortable solitude.

The Wombats have brought us something bright and shiny in Glitterbug.
One of the things I have always loved about The Wombats is their versatility in the music they bring to life. Glitterbug is no exception to this, and it is quickly becoming one of my new favorite albums. For those familiar with The Wombats music, tracks such as 'Sex and Question Marks' and 'The English Summer' carry the difinitive sound that I loved from their first album. They've kept some of the synth that worked so well on their second for tracks such as 'Curveballs' (my favorite on this album) and 'Pink Lemonade,' and have embraced a fun, energetic sound reminiscent of great 80s pop in tracks such as 'Be Your Shadow' and 'Headspace.' The ballad 'Isabel' brings a brief moment of calm in a sea of energy, but still manages to feel like it belongs with the rest of the album. The overall experience left me feeling upbeat (sometimes you come across music that just leaves you feeling GOOD), and it brought me to the realization the the lengthy time between This Modern Glitch and Glitterbug served a great purpose. This album was well worth the wait!

It's 2015; if you want to know about the music, all the songs are up on Youtube. One thing I will say is that it flows beautifully, all the songs blending to where it really feels like an album, not just a playlist. It arrived on time, and included a very minimalistic lyric book so you don't have to go hunting for that one line you don't know. The Wombats only release an album every four years; don't wait for the next.

Glitterbug
Another great release from The Wombats. All the songs are still infused with catchy pop hooks. A few of the songs are very electronic and although decent songs, they seem like the weaker spots on the album- "Give Me a Try" and "Headspace" being the low points for me. The album seems to get better and better as it goes, ending with the bonus tracks which I happened to love the most! It's a fun collection of songs.Best Tracks - Greek Tragedy, Sex and Question Marks, Pink Lemonade

Plays and sounds great, translucent magenta vinyl looks great
Plays and sounds great, translucent magenta vinyl looks great, sleeve etc are very nice too. My only complaint is the vinyl is cracked where the hole was drilled in it. The cracks only extend a few centimeters so they don't impact the playback and are hardly noticeable, but I hope they don't fracture any farther :(

Far from A Tragedy
In less than a year I discovered two excellent bands from Australia. This album from The Wombats is so much fun and such a great listen. I discovered this thanks to a YouTube channel called Spectrum Pulse claiming it as one of the best albums of 2015 and I agree.I know there are more albums from these guys but, for now 'Glitterbug' is a great listen and I recommend it.

Nice Album
I really enjoy listening to this album. I normally don't like music like the Wombats but they have a certain energy similar to Arctic Monkeys that I can't ignore. This album is full of energetic, well thought through pop songs that really make me feel good.

Great CD
Great alternative music, good starting CD if you're beginning to like their music as it has some of their more famous songs on it.
