The good & the not so good...
I have been beading/creating jewelry for several years now. This book has some great designs & some very basic designs, which is a good thing to reach a larger audience. What I found lacking are good instructions. They review a few techniques at the beginning then present the projects with scant instructions & no drawings/pictures to break down the steps. Put another way, if you are a visual learner, especially a beginner, you may have trouble making certain designs. Many will have to search further for the "how-to". I also thought the "ingredients " for many designs were too specific with no alternatives given. Pictures of the components would have been great. For example, what is a diamond filigree trellis? On the plus side, they cover different materials to use very thoroughly--all the different kinds of fibers--ribbons, lace, leather, cording... And they do include a resource list for each design in the back along with a large list of shops to look for beads & components.

Totally Unique
I pick up a lot of jewelry technique books and I always sit down and skim through them when they first arrive. Usually I will find one or two project that I like and a bunch that would be far to expensive to make or need supplies that are too hard to find. Also I tend find a lot of repetition in the projects between different books. I was utterly delighted to find that wasn't the case with this one.The projects that are contained within are totally unique with easy to locate supplies. And what makes it even better is how inspirational all of the projects are. As I sit down to go through it, I find myself jotting notes about how I can use this technique combined with ones I already know to come up with a totally unique piece of jewelry.I could continue to rave on about this book but the best piece of advice I can give is that if you are going to pick up only one design book this year then be sure to grab this one.

Bohemian Love
I absolutely love this book. I pick it up almost daily since I started making jewelry with more Boho vibes. I've made many different types of jewelry over the years. I started with assembling old pieces and slowly moved on to enamels, e-forming and metal smithing. Despite it all I can't quite stop being pleased with just beading sometimes and this book has many inspirations to try my hand at more quirky and freestyle designs. It calls to the child within me and reminds me to play sometimes with unexpected elements. Definitely worth the buy.

Nice to see new designs!
Wow! This book is a knockout. It's the first in awhile that I've bought that has designs I've never even seen, or imagined, before. Great mixtures of media and new and exciting color mixes. What I really love is that the magic is made from readily purchased beads and findings (except for just a few). That's better than the last book I got that had great stuff, but dependant on looking up tons of obscure resources (some out of business!). So this is an exceptional book, and it doesn't just offer beautiful designs but sets you on a different mindset, to mix things up a bit, and create even more unusual art on your own.The only thing I would say is that it is a bit short on instructions (at least, they aren't shown with diagrams or pictures). Lots of pictures of finished products and text instructions are the core, which is fine with me as I know what I'm doing. But for a newbie, this may be a little bit frustrating at first (don't give up though!).The photos themselves are superior, and you can see a lot of love and knowledge went into this. That says something, because I've seen some jewelry instruction books where, if you look close, the solder shows or a jump ring is barely closed. This isn't just beautiful, it's well-done.Highest recommendations!

Beautiful Boho Designs!
Of course, Lorelei Eurto and Erin Siegel, being such talented jewelry designers, would create a lovely book with beautiful yet fairly easy designs. I've really enjoyed reading through this book. The photos are gorgeous and the instructions well done. I'm not much of a Boho jewelry designer at this point, but looking at their designs motivates me to create some Boho pieces and see how it goes. It's a wonderful book and I'm glad I got it to add to my collection. I highly recommend it for jewelry designers in general and especially for those who gravitate toward the Boho look.

Beautiful inspiration from cover to cover!
I treasure my copy of Bohemian-Inspired Jewelry, it is my go-to book for leather and cord jewelry how-tos. You will be drawn in first by the gorgeous cover - the book designer (Karla Baker) did an amazing job styling the projects throughout the book. If you are new to working with alternative fibers, not to worry, there is thorough information on cording, findings and accompanying techniques such as knot tying. You're in for a real treat when it comes to the project pages - as there are FIFTY designs to inspire! I was intrigued by the the alternative ways to use leather, waxed linen, and ribbon. Some of my favorite projects by the authors include "Triple Loop" and "Sakura" by Erin Siegel, and "Batik Boutique" by Lorelei Eurto. I'm drawn in by the contributor's projects as well, such as "Bohemian Wrapsody" by Tracy Statler, "Awakening Lotus" by Mary Jane Dodd and "Nouvelle" by Denise Yezbak Moore. The authors wrap up the book with a generous list of resources so we, too, can find the beautiful art beads and unusual findings used in the projects.I highly recommend adding this book to your jewelry design library - you'll find yourself turning to it often!

A lovely book with unique and exciting projects
This is an absolutely lovely book, full of projects that are not only fun to make, but that fuel your imagination for making more! I am a beginner, and I found some of the projects to be over my head, but I am looking forward to doing them as I get more experience. The editors and designers did a wonderful job of bringing together diverse and beautiful examples of unique, funky jewelry. If you enjoy this style of jewelry and would like to try making it yourself, this is the book for you!
