Size:Single Item It's about time - a DEET-free insect repellent that really works! Natrapel provides 12 hours of protection against mosquitoes & ticks and 8 hours of protection from biting insects, thanks to its CDC-recommended 20% Picaridin formula. Unlike ineffective DEET alternatives, Picaridin is the only formula that consistently shows equal or better performance than DEET in independent, clinical tests. Even better, Natrapel 12-hour is completely safe on gear and will not melt jackets, fishing line, and other synthetic materials. The 6 oz. continuous spray bottle provides effortless, even application.

DON'T EVER BUY ANY OTHER BRAND
I will NEVER buy any other mosquito/bug repellent. Seriously. My family jokes that if I went to the moon, a mosquito would find me there. My family and friends don't have to use bug spray outside if I'm there, because mosquitoes will literally bypass ALL of them to go for me, even when I'm SOAKED in repellent and/or using those fan clips. I tried this product after hearing about it in a Consumer Reports article, and now I will NEVER use any other brand. First and Most importantly, it works! I didn't get bit ONCE while using this- the first time in 25 years I've ventured outside and returned with nary a bite. Secondly, it smells good. This does not smell like bug spray, and actually has an almost floral scent. Thirdly, the over-spray doesn't make you want to wash your mouth out with soap. I'm absolutely NOT advising you spray it in your mouth, but often the over-spray of other brands means you can't enjoy the bbqs or ice cream or whatever you're indulging in because it's all you can taste or smell. Thirdly, it's not greasy at all! It sprays on and dries quickly, without leaving an sticky or greasy residue.

GREASY GREASY GREASY
I am a mosquito magnet and I have always hated deet. Deet is sooo greasy and makes me feel slimy, sticky and yucky. It also burns my skin really bad and turns it as red as a lobster Plus I would still get mosquito bites. I discovered Picaridin about a month ago and I was blown away with the results. Im in love with the stuff. The kind I ordered first was the other brand in the lotion type. No Smell, No Burning, No Grease, No Slime, No Red Skin and most importantly No Bites ! Not even one. So when I saw this Picaridin Spray I was so excited. I thought WOW, the perfect insect repellent and its in a easier spay formula, how lucky could I be ? As it turns out, not as lucky as I thought. This stuff is as greasy and slimy as the deet spray I did keep the mosquitoes away, not one bite just like with the lotion but just nasty. So greasy you cant even come inside to cool off for a minute and sit on your couch. I think I will stick to the lotion. Its truly awesome.

Picaridin works great for ticks, do not like Natrapel's sprayer
I work outside most of the summer in an area with Lyme disease, so am concerned primarily with repelling ticks - repelling mosquitoes is a secondary benefit. I treat my shoes and clothes with a permethrin spray (once a week) and use an insect repellent spray each morning. I like picaridin based insect repellants rather than DEET repellants, since picaridin is less greasy and seems to work better. Plus, I find that I do not need to reapply my sunscreen as frequently during the day.One negative about Natrapel is the sprayer. I've purchased one or two cans of Natrapel where it doesn't spray as an even mist, rather it is a heavier mist with large drops, so that the spray really isn't that effective. I think this is due to the locking mechanism of the sprayer not unlocking fully. I've now started purchasing a different product from Amazon which has the same concentration of picaridin at the same price, with a better sprayer. Also, the 6 oz. Natrapel spray is not always available from Amazon during the summer months (only third party sellers) while the other product seems to be more consistently in stock by Amazon.

Overwhelming fragrance in otherwise good product
This stuff has a lot of perfume in it, which is very annoying. The Sawyer product with picaridin has no fragrance, and none is needed. The spray can is nicely designed and much easy to use than the poorly designed spray bottles on the Sawyer product. Picaridin is an effective, virtually odor-free repellent -- can't understand why they load it up with fragrance!

IT WORKS!!!
Not sure what kind of wizardry is used to ward off bugs, because this stuff is magic. I’m an avid outdoorsy person and trail run and camp and rock climb. This is my go to spray. I spent 6 hours running in hot bug infested woods and I seriously didn’t get a single bite. Also, we were climbing with some friends in a mosquito cloud and we only had a product with DEET in it. Didn’t work at all. I went home and got this spray and didn’t get bothered once! Buy this bug spray and never look back. Plus, it doesn’t ruin camping gear or fishing gear or sunglasses like DEET-laden sprays do! And it’s natural. It’s got to be made by elves or fairies or something.

Did not work, caught on camera
Didn’t work!!! My outdoor cat kept meowing at me to pet him so I sprayed this on RIGHT before going out to my lawn. I was outside for (no joke) 3 minutes before I felt something on my leg. It was a mosquito and I swatted it away but I was too late! The damage was done. What’s funny is I was recording a video of my cat to send to my sister and the whole thing was caught on camera (see video). Here I am now, two mosquito bites later, writing this review.Spend your money elsewhere.

Works, but very oily and watch your overspray.
Crrtainly keeps bugs and mosquitoes away but it is quit oily, perhaps they all are. And be sure you’re outside away from anything of value when spraying it on, including concrete that’s ever been sealed with concrete sealer. The over spray turned areas of the sealer creamy white on our patio and I cant wash those spots off. I quit using it because its so oily and what it did to the concrete sealer makes me worry about what it does to our bodies years from now. It takes a good scrubbing with soap and water to get the oil off your skin.I’ll keep smacking the skiters and maybe try the next best item that comes along one of these days.

It works for me and I'm a mosquito magnet.
I'm the kind of person who gets a black cloud of mosquitoes following him on evening walks. I have had people point it out to me, I'm not exaggerating. That said, I try to limit my time outdoors during the horrible time others enjoy, known as summer. This repellent has allowed me to take a couple walks in the evening without any bites. I'd usually have three of four welts on me when I'm out for any period of time around dusk, even when dressed in long pants and sleeves, and with a hat.
