Great quality
I am very pleased with the quality of this desk blotter. The buffalo hide texture is subtle and appealing, and pleasant to the touch. It really has the quality feel of a blotter that will last through time and only get more character with use. Exactly what I was looking for.

Color is lighter than photo
It’s much lighter than pictured. Some scuff marks. Better color that the bone over $100 on Wayfair so I kept it. But it’s not great.

It could have been perfect!
This buffalo desk pad was advertised as a award-winning design. Indeed it has the potential but the company has quality control problems at least through Amazon. It was to have been a gift for my husband. I ordered three and each pad had defects: stitching color was two-tone in one, over stretched leather in the next with a bent corner, and the last reorder of the product had a marred and rubbed/scratched leather pad. I really wanted this to work but it was a disappointing experience!

Affordable Quality
I’m very satisfied with this leather desk pad. It’s a full grain leather over a hard backing board, with side pockets. It has a very nice leather smell and satisfying tactile feel. It is marketed as vegetable tanned leather and I believe that to be true when compared to my $600 dollar veg-tanned leather briefcase. I have found that the cognac color of this desk pad coordinates nicely with my darker brown desk. I looked all over the internet for full grain leather desk pads and determined this pad to be a great balance between quality and value. I could have spent more money on a much thicker piece of leather from a mom and pop retailer, but I couldn’t justify spending almost fifty percent more. I think this pad is sufficiently nice and looks like a custom piece anyway. It is high quality leather, fairly priced, and will likely outlast my present decor tastes. That’s all that matters to me.

Air bubbles between the stitching
When I got this I knew something was wrong right away. There was too much air between the stitching so that there are air bubbles. Looks terrible and can’t write on it. For a German company I expected better. Maybe made in India was the problem.

Wellenbildung im Leder
An Sich sehr schön verarbeitet und ein sehr schönes Schmuckstück, wenn es sich nicht im Laufe der kurzen 5Monate Nutzung so verändert hätte. Es wirft Wellen (siehe Bild) und man hat den Eindruck es wäre viel zu viel Leder auf eine viel zu kleine Fläche verarbeitet worden. Das war tatsächlich am Anfang nicht so und das kam trotz Sorgfalt und Achtsamkeit. Kein Tropfen Wasser nichteinmal schwere Bücher kamen auf das gute Stück und dennoch enttäuscht es nun mit der „billig“ wirkenden Optik und der beim Schreiben sehr nervigen/störenden Wellen des Leders. Sehr schade.

Sehr sehr empfindlich, daher nicht empfehlenswert
Grundsätzlich wäre das eine schöne Schreibtischauflage. Aber das Leder ist nicht durchfärbt. Man sieht jeden Kratzer auf der Unterlage, der sich sehr sehr hell abzeichnet, nach kurzer Zeit schaut die Schreibtischauflage ziemlich schäbig aus. Für die Farbqualität und deren Bestand ist das Produkt leider viel zu teuer und einfach auch nach kurzer Zeit nicht mehr schön.

Handmade und regional
Alpenleder macht sehr schöne Produkte aus Echtleder.Das Design und die Qualität der Produkte spricht für sich. Es lohnt sich, sofern man mal in der Nähe ist im Laden vorbeizuschauen. Sehr angenehme Menschen und vor Ort gibt es einige Einzelstücke und Restposten zu einem unschlagbaren Preis.Fazit, wer Alpenleder kauft bekommt Qualität made in Germany und nicht aus China...

Passt perfekt!
Sehr schön verarbeitet. Ich hatte zunächst dasselbe Problem, welches jemand geschildert hat, dass sich innert der ersten 2 Wochen die Schreibtischunterlage nach oben zu rollen begann. Mit vorsichtigem Gegenwölben löste sich die innere Verbindung zwischen Hinterseite und Karton, seither sitzt die Unterlage perfekt flach auf dem Schreibtisch. Bin sehr froh, diese Schreibtischunterlage gefunden zu haben, die perfekt zum Interieur der 1900er Jahre passt - jederzeit zu empfehlen!

Gut verpackt und pünktlich angekommen.
Das Stück sah fast so aus , wie in der Werbung.Wir waren sehr zufrieden.Sehr gut wäre es , wenn man kleine Pflegehinweise erhalten würde; z. B. kommt da einmal ein kleiner Tintenfleck drauf, wie behandelt man dann das Leder? keiner weiß das genau.MfGJürgen
