The good:+ Very Strong Magentic Force. Stronger than ExpectedThe Bad:- They say "Jiayi" on them. Likely the OEM brand for these. They aren't text free like the pictures.Side Notes: The bottom isn't flat so glue and doubleside tape aren't an option.

Has a strong pull - strong enough to keep our trash-can drawer closed tightly from our dog's snooping nose and strong paws, but not too strong to keep Grandma from opening the trash bin as needed.

My talented husband built me a knife drawer that pulls down from the bottom of one of our kitchen cupboards. It has 2 heavy magnetic strips & a dozen chefs knives & is hinged at the wall end with hinges that allow the drawer to pull down from the front. We needed a heavy duty magnetic catch to hold the knife drawer in place when it's closed. This magnetic catch is perfect, it fit perfectly & has the power to hold the drawer closed.

The plate that mates to the magnet must be installed in exactly the right place. I installed the magnetic part with the plate on the magnet. Then I put the point of a marker pen through the top hole (taped in place) so it would put a dot on the door when I shut it. If the plate was longer and wider it would not be so critical but it is not.

These worked great for me...One thing though, you must pre-drill holes! I dont recall the size, but you will want to make pilot holes slightly smaller in diameter than the screws are... this will save you time, make for a clean install and prevent cracking wood or stripping out the screw's head.So, buy these because they are awesome, but take your time and install them like an intelligent person and you will be ok. This is the kind of thing you only have to so once, so dont try to rush it.

I tested the amount of force my existing catches took to pull open on my travel trailer cabinets. It was around 8lbs. These aren't even close to that. I'll try to test them, but I would guess no more than 2 lbs of force to separate the magnet from the plate.

the magnet of this door catch is good. However, the screws that come with it are quite soft and their head can break easily when using a screw driver and/or the screw (+) get chewed away by the screw driver head. It seems they are made of very soft metal. I had to remove the broken screw from my wooden cabinet twice before I got frustrated and used the old screws that were holding the old rusty door catch I had before.

Worked great for a bathroom cabinet that kept popping open. Was easy to install.
