tica surge 11 foot surf rod
The rod is great, has nice back bone . I don't know about all the other tica models but the tica surge is strong ,durable and feels pretty lite for a 11 foot surf pole It cast 5 and 6 oz and bait and it handled that with ease so I was happy to know It could have casted more if need be. Most rods are way over rated this is not one of them.

Would recommend for light plugging
Been using it for a week, caught alot of schoolies. It's lightweight, it can cast a mile, and I love the action it gives to pencil poppers, but the reel seat is not of the best quality. It doesn't lock properly anymore and can be uncomfortable when constantly brushing against your palm.

These tica rods are awesome !!! My casting distance improved on the first pitch ! Looks great ! Feels great in your hands ! And strong but can feel lil white perch biting ! All i used in 2017 was tica rods ! I own 5 now and my wife owns 3 and she loves them !

They don’t honor warranties
Bought a 11’ heavy rod. Rod arrived with the rod tip broken but with no broken rod tip in the packing box. To me this means it happened before shipped to Amazon warehouse as we all know they aren’t sending unpackaged rods to Amazon for their workers to box up. Contacted tica support and they very bluntly refused to honor any warranty on the rod because it was bought through Amazon. Buyer beware. This was my 5th tica rod and my first time trying to get help from their customer service. Probably would be better off going with one of the bigger brands who treat costumers right.

Priced well, performs well.
Well balanced, solid construction. This is somewhat of a "no frills" option, but the blank has great backbone, and the MH action casts further than I expected for an 8ft rod with 1-2oz rigs. The guides are holding up well to braided line.

Legit
Light and strong! Have a Penn 360 slammer on it. Just right...

Solid rod. Needs a few upgrades
This is a good lightweight surf rod. It casts and handles fish well. Tica makes quality rods at good prices, but I don't think I will go with the UKGA series again as it has a few underperforming components.1. The reel seat slips frequently. It is not so loose that the reel to falls off, but enough to need to re-tighten more often than should be necessary.2. The rod twists at the ferrule when throwing baits in the upper end of the the rod's rated range, e.g. an SP Minnow. This can be corrected with some ferrule wax, but it doesn't seem to happen on my other rods.Correct those two things and this is a 5* rod for the price.

Nice light weight utilitarian saltwater rod
This is a nice rod. Lightweight, utilitarian and bare bones, easy to work a 2 oz popper or impart action to a lure. I had the 8-footer in this series but I needed more range without more weight. Fishermen who like their VanStaal's and their trophy rods should skip this...this is not fancy and many don't care for the rubber wrapped handle. By the way, I didn't manage to put a fish on this yet (I bought it very late in the season) or I might have given it five stars. It was shipped quickly and arrived undamaged.
