I wish I'd bought this 3 months ago
I've been struggling with the candida diet for the past 3 months, constantly finding myself bored and "cheating" because of a lack of variety. I bought this cookbook after a particularly bad binge as a part of a commitment to myself to stick to the diet for the next 3-6 months. These recipes are innovative, delicious and have helped me think outside the box. I particularly like the sauces and spread section because I can make them ahead of time and create a meal out of them quickly o the weekdays. I've found that the herbed sunflower spread is great with salmon and the sundried tomato pesto can jazz up what would otherwise be a lackluster meal (like roasted chicken and veggies). My boyfriend is impressed with them too. I definitely recommend this book if you are struggling with sticking to the diet out of boredom and want some inspiration.

Great Info- So so recipes
I have been trying to stick to a Candida diet to try to reduce inflammation in my body. I have found many delicious recipes online, so I was excited to get this cookbook as it had excellent reviews. The information in the beginning of the book was worth the price, but the recipes have fallen way short for me. I'm an avid cook with a food blog and have shelves of amazing cookbooks. To be honest, I was hoping for more from this one. All of the recipes I've made have been bland, bland, bland. In my opinion, the recipes all had to be altered to taste better or coax out more flavor. My other complaint is that she is not very detailed in many of the recipes- like what size pans/dishes to use, what size cans of tomatoes, etc (which is not a huge deal if you know your way around a recipe, but would not be ideal for a novice cook) and her baking times are off. After a few recipes I learned to pull everything out of the oven early before it overbaked. There are no introductions for any recipes (why she likes them, what the flavors are like etc). Some of the things I've made: Broccoli and Yellow Onion Egg Muffins (bland), Oatmeal Breakfast Bake (okay), Ginger Beef and Broccoli (absolutely flavorless, a huge disappointment),Turkey Chili (good, but much better added chile for heat-it had none), Hibiscus Mint Tea (good) especially with sparkling water, Paleo fudgy brownies were dry and spongey at first. I remade them with coconut milk, a bit of espresso powder (I know caffeine is not in the diet) and added Lily's stevia sweetened chocolate chips for more chocolate flavor and fudgy texture. Much better! The last recipe I made was the Baked Mac +Cheese which went straight in the trash. Flavor was awful and sauce was too dry. Needless to say, I will keep this book for inspiration only. However, if you are not adventurous in the kitchen or like bland food this book is for you. If this had been my first foray into candida diet recipes, I would assume that it is supposed to be bland (maybe for those with really sensitive stomachs?) and I would be sad. Luckily I found those delicious recipes on the internet first. I have to take a hard pass on this cookbook. The ideas are good, but the execution is bad.

Beautiful Images, Inspiring Dishes - This book has it all!
When I was diagnosed with Candida (digestive), I was shocked at how little I was supposed to be able to eat. I'm not a great cook, and the dishes I do make are not on the diet that would restore my wellness. So. I had to start over. I'm good at research, so I took the time to look at a variety of websites and resources for what to eat. This book's illustrations are lovely and made me want to cook! I already had to buy out Whole Foods (God help you if you're on a restricted budget and you get this diagnosis). I might as well make some dishes that make me love eating again. This cook book has it all. I'll write more when I try some recipes, and I'm intrigued and WANT to make some of them. The recipes span from drinks, smoothies, sides, main dishes, to desserts and making condiments - most with images to help you understand what the food looks like when you're done. Thank you for giving me hope during this trying time!!!Update 2 months later on this diet:This cook book single-handedly saved me. The recipes are clear and delicious! I'm rather amazing in the cooking and baking now, because I can't go out to eat (and when I do, it's rather a catastrophe). The soups are DIVINE! My favorite that I've made a few times is the Thai Coconut-Lentil soup. The chai tea is really stinking good - and spicy! Ann Boroch, thank you for sharing your wisdom. These are dishes I will continue to make the rest of my life because they're tasty!

peppers and eggplant) cause a great deal of inflammation in my body
What a gift this cookbook is. Since 2000 after a back injury and subsequent stomach problems relating to taking ibuprofen for pain I have dealt with sensitivities to many foods. After seeing an allergist I was told to stay away from sugar, dairy, gluten and soy. I have found that nightshade vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and eggplant) cause a great deal of inflammation in my body. Corn is another culprit. Happily, these common food allergens are omitted from the recipes in this cookbook. The meals are delicious and the pictures are beautiful. After cooking a couple dozen of the recipes my husband and I have not found one that we have not liked. For health reasons we are migrating to more of a plant-based diet and this cookbook has many satisfying options. I have tried countless cookbooks since my stomach problems began and this is by far my favorite. Ann Boroch's book "The Candida Cure" has also been very helpful to me. Thank you Ann! I am looking forward to your next cookbook.

This book is excellent! It is creative
This book is excellent! It is creative, well designed, clear in it's communication and all around a very great resource. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because some of the recipes include ingredients which you cannot have until after the two or three month mark. This information is not clearly marked and really requires the reader to know their "foods to eat" list.I highly recommend this book even if you aren't on the candida diet and just want try making healthier meals at home. Thanks Ann, it's a great book!

Great recipes
Excellent information and great recipes. Have had to buy a lot of different foods which are quite costly. My only disappointment is that the recipes are all in cups not grams
