Throwdown Hybrid Shin Guards, Black, Large

As a muay thai practitioner, I've went through my fair share of shin guards. I bought these as a spare for potential sparring partners and found that despite being a grappling/striking hybrid, this model has enough front impact padding to suffice for most stand up sparring. The pleather is well fit and there will be minimal foam movement throughout it's life and it has not gotten looser despite heavy usage. The fit of the shinguard itself is good for it's price and is comparable to higher quality Twins and Hayabusa level shinguards and most sparring partners had no issues with the fit . I do recommend sizing up if you have large calves.The main issues my partners had had with theses is that the design cut at the bottom of the calf is so low and steep that it can dig into your Achilles when grappling. This can be offset by using a ankle sleeve however.

Exactly the kind of shin guards that met my training needs. Was looking for Shin guards that felt like they were apart of my body works well for sparring.Easy to put on, a bit difficult at times to take off. lol.
