Fantastic value
End the analysis paralysis and just get this--it's just what you need unless you don't know what you need. I have three and I love them. You save a lot of money buying this kit rather than trying to buy the individual components. Here are a few tips. 1. There have been a few comments that the wrap does not plug into the controller easily. I suspect it's because they have the plug orientation wrong. The plug has a wide prong and a narrow prong. Insert the wide prong into the left side of the controller and wiggle it a bit--it'll go. Yes, it's still a little tight but not much. 2. Read the controller instructions--operating this thing is not intuitive. If you want it to heat, you have to change the setting from the default COOLING mode to the HEATING mode. I suspect this is the reason for one of the 3 star complaints. Next, set the Slewing Range. This is the window in which the controller operates. For example, if you have a slewing range of 0.5 degrees and a set point of 75 degrees, the controller will begin heating at 74.5 degrees and turn off at 75.5 degrees. The default is 0.1 degrees and if you don't change it the relay will click on and off constantly, which is annoying and will probably shorten the life of the controller. 3. The thermowell. Use it. Don't try to put the thermometer between the carboy and the wrap. It won't control the temperature of your brew well and will give you a false sense of security. The thermowell usually comes with the stopper sliding on the metal thermowell. Grasp the end of the rod that goes in the liquid with one hand and hold the stopper with the other. Pull until the flared end of the metal rod goes slightly inside the stopper. This will prevent air leaks and allow your airlock to function.Another complaint I read. The bung does not fit well the carboy. I suspect this is addressed by number 3 above. Otherwise it is a fine silicone bung that is perfectly sized. I have one with a #7 and two with a #10 stopper and they are both perfect for their respective sizes. It bugs me when someone orders the wrong size of something then they give a bad review because they ordered the wrong size! THIS VENDOR CANNOT READ MY MIND AND SENT ME WHAT I ORDERED NOT WHAT I NEED. ARRGGG!

Keeps accuracy within a tenth of a degree
This thing is great! I have it on my NEIPA now which I’ve been fermenting at 69 degrees with Imperial Juice yeast. The second the temp hits 68.9 the heat pad kicks on and brings it back up to 69. Unless I’ve opened my fermentor, this has kept my beer at 69 degrees +/- 0.1 degree. Very impressive.

good product, did its job
only comment would be the standard american plug doesn't really fit, you can see where they tried to cut the plastic face so it would but it still doesn't. if you put a little force into pushing the plug in it goes in and works though.

Works great
Works very well. Controls temp accurately. Can adjust the hysteresis. Only issues is the bung was way big for my carboys. So far great product.

BEWARE IF USING BUCKET FERMENTER
IF YOU ARE USING A BUCKET TO FERMENT, be prepared to drill a new hole in your lid! The picture and description make it sound as if it is compatible, but the normal airlock holes are not large enough with the plastic bucket fermenters and will be drilled to the proper size, which I attempted and cracked my lid. Thankfully I had an extra lid or I would have thrown away a whole batch! Not sure how the product works yet as I need a compatible lid still.

simply works
I am happy with this temp controller. It fit well and easily on my carboys and seems to have done the job on my first fermentation run with it. We'll see if it withstands the test of time.

Working So Far
Using for Kombucha continuous fermenter. Hopefully it will hold up better than the previous brand unit.
